Default How to flash a BenQ Xbox 360

    Requirements:
    - Download: tOxiC's FirmPack (This file contains the firmware and the tools you will need)
    - A Via or Nforce chipset
    - A CK3 or Maximus Xtractor *Optional*

FIRST STEP: Install the drivers for the CK3 (if you are using it) You can find them here:

only use this if you have the CK3 from executer

    USB Drivers (XP) Download

    USB Drivers (Vista) Download

IF YOU ARE NOT USING A CK3 / XTRACTOR SKIP AHEAD TO THE GREEN!

1 Ok, Using a CK3 or Xtractor, hook your xbox up like so.

2 Power on your CK3 or Xtracter and then open Jungleflasher.exe.

SKIP THIS SECTION IF YOU ARE USING THE CK3 OR XTRACTOR

1 Hook your SATA cable from your Xbox Disk drive into your VIA Raid. Keep the power cable running from the disk drive into the xbox's motherboard. Hook your xbox up like you normally would when you play.(power supply and video cable)

Note: The video cable does not need to be plugged into a TV, just into the back of the Xbox to prevent an error.

2 Power on your Xbox 360 and open Jungleflasher.exe.

    CONTINUE HERE

Ok, now your xbox is hooked up to your PC and you opened JungleFlasher. Navigate to the MTKFlash 32 Tab.

Now under the I/O Port, search for the one that has your drive. It should appear like this:

    PBDS VAD6038-64930C
    VAD6038 (Or something similiar)

Now, follow the picture. Click "BenQ Unlock"

NOTE: If you are on iXtreme 1.5 and upgrading, eject your disk tray and MANUALLY push it back in half way. If it shuts automatically when you power back on, just unplug the drives power cord when it's halfway and replug it back in. Then click Into / Device ID.

Then after you unlock, your "Flash Chip Properties" should be similiar to the one below. It does not have to be exact every computer is different!

Now we can continue and just press "Read".

You should get everything OK, and it will ask you to save, just save to the desktop and it will ask you this message:

    Click "Yes".

Now, when you are at the Firmware Tool 32 Tab, check your two DVD keys. The bottom key should match the top one. Click save and save your firmware to the desktop.

Now you are already to write your Firmware.

Go back to the MTK Flash 32 Tab.

and all your info should be there, and click "Write".

    After you have received this:

Go along and click Outro / ATA Reset. And Done!

im not sure if you can use that motherboard but i would suggest you get a via 6421a pci card thats what i used
you can get them off ebay for like 10 to 15 dollars$

flashing your drive can be really hard and can suck at times all depending on operating system and hardware
took me awhile to get it all down. so good luck

I have been told that if you power on and off your DVD drive with the Xbox360 power, that it will log that there was no DVD drive connected when you power up and store this information. People have said that banning could result from this method. Is there any truth to this?

Word of warning. After you do this and start burning discs make sure to burn them at a max speed of 4x

If you burnt it to quick the disc will fail every single read sector hash check when the xbox spins it at 4x read speed. This causes the xbox to send a log detailing how it was possible for an "official" game disc to fuck up so much. They will be onto your ass so quick. Burning anywhere above 4x write speed means the hash check pointers will be spread out a little too far in some places and this causes an error.
Every single game published my microsoft is tested so this never happens before leaving the presses.

This check will not fail on scratched or damaged discs as entire pointers will be missing so no verification takes place (therefore your game won't start). If your "official" disc has one pointer read and then the next the xbox either realises the hash checks were not put in place by a licensed manufacturer and sends a report saying this and that; than your account is banned. Or disc will fail to boot because of scratches or will stop functioning as the laser moves over the scratched area.

The latest editions of ixtreme remove the xboxs ability of doing these checks but they still need to take place internally for the game to start.

SO BURN AT 4x SPEED! (with imgburn or nero preferably)

Nice guide, but due to recent ban waves, it's not wise to flash/mod your xbox. The new update apparently shows which users have flashed/modded xbox's. Luckily for me, I don't go on live that much so I didn't get banned yet. Gonna keep a profile until things cool down and ixtreme develops a new FW that can bypass the update.

You don't know what you're talking about. Ixtreme is made to remove any checks in place as long as you're up to date nothing is sent between you and microsoft. No FW checks are ever made only hash verifications for any discs. Hence you only get screwed royally if you have a bad disc. How did you mod your xbox without knowing this?

Dude, you're fine. Really play as much as you can. This isn't a problem as long as whatever method you used is safe to the best of your knowledge than the xbox will never report anything.
