If you are a new user to the torrent world, or never figured out how to contribute to the community, this will help you out dearly!
This tracker (like others) happens to have certain allowed Clients for you to use when dealing with torrents.
Utorrent has many versions of the program, due to improvements and fixes of bugs in the software. These Utorrent versions are allowed here in passthepopcorn.org:
Utorrent 1.6.1
uTorrent 1.7.6
uTorrent 1.7.7
uTorrent 1.8
uTorrent 1.8 Beta (7928 )
Utorrent 1.8.1 Beta
Utorrent 1.8.1
Utorrent 1.8.3
In other words, as long as you have one of those versions you will be fine. You can check what version you have by opening your Utorrent program and going to Help > About Utorrent
Now that we are done with the hassle of checking if you are even allowed to connect to this tracker we began with the process of uploading a torrent.
I have to say that Utorrent is the easiest program (windows-based) to create a torrent to upload to the tracker.
Follow This Steps:
1. Open up Utorrent
2. Go to File >> Create New Torrent... | or Ctrl N
3. Select Source basically means Browse for the file you want the torrent to represent. Since passthepopcorn.org does not allowed .rar or .zip files you do not have to worry about about adding directories just files.
4. Click add file and look for the movie you are wanting to upload to the tracker. The path to the movie will then be added under *Select Source*
5.On the same window you will see this:
a. Torrent Properties:
I. Trackers:
- This is where you will copy and paste your personal announce url
- Personal announce url can be found in the upload page
II. Web Seeds:
- Do not worry about this
III. Comment:
- Do not worry about this
6. Leave Peace size as (Auto Detect)
7. The last thing in the window is "Other"...
a. I recommend you keep both Start Seeding and Private torrent checked.
8. Press Create and Save as... and your torrent will start creating.
9. After the torrent is created, it will ask you where you want to save the torrent. It is important that you save it somewhere where you will remember because you will need that torrent file when uploading to the tracker.
10. Go to the upload page of whatever site this torrent was made for, click browse, and look for the torrent file you just created.
11. After you have everything filled out, and you found your torrent file, click upload torrent at the bottom of the page.
The website updates about every 10 minutes, so if you see that the torrent you just uploaded says no seeders, give it a few minutes for it to update. A nice little thing about this site is that the announce URL you receive is your own, therefore your passkey is included in the url. Don't share your passkey with anyone because they might be able to affect your account externally.
Hopefully this helps you out during your first torrent creation!![]()
