Thread: How to use BitTorrent to send files

The idea of this tutorial is to make a connection via the BitTorrent protocol, but without a tracker in between. This is ideal for transferring files and / or large files between two or more users.

1-Open μTorrent and go to Options> Preferences.




2-Under Preferences, click Connection, and "remember" the port number ( in this case 1234).




3-Then click Advanced and select the option bt.enable_tracker changing the value NO (false) to Yes (* true).




Also set the option bt.allow_same_ip changing the value NO (false) to Yes (* true), and finish by pressing OK. This is for those using DDNS service like No-IP, DynDNS, etc..



4-Create the . torrent going to File> Create new torrent



5-By opening the appropriate window click on Add File (if you want to create. Torrent from a file) or Add Directory (if you want to create. Torrent from a folder).






6-Trackers field must be completed respecting the following sentence.

"http://IP:Port/announce"

If you need to know your IP go to hxxp://www.whatismyip.com , the port number is in the step 2.
The word "announce" always must to be writen without modification.

7-Then press the Create button and save as ... and go! That's it!
