Thread: IRC Guide: Mirc

I saw many people not knowing how to access irc and many people join with the java thing.Also i saw that we dont have a guide for mirc..You can find many guides on trackers..
So first step to download the mirc program:


To get the IRC-client mIRC goto mIRC: Download mIRC and choose a mirror.

When you start the installation you should first click "Next"...


I agree:



Choose your path, where u want mIRC to be installed.Then click next.



mIRC is now installing.


check "launch mIRC now" and then press "finish"


This is the first thing that pop-ups when you open your mIRC-client, so just fill in your name, email, nick and "backup" nick incase your's taken.



U can also add the server in order to have it saved.
Go to servers and click add:




Then fill out the details:




Then click ok and then select the server:


Once you have them all done click ok or connect:


Once you are connected you can register your nick

/msg nickserv register <password> <email>

now you have to identify yourself, to identify yourself type:

/msg nickserv identify <password>

Then once you are registered you can join all channels:
/join #Torrent-Invites redzonetorrent
/join #invites

thanks for replies.i have seen many people not knowing how to use mirc and i was noob too so now that i know some things its good to help people joining irc.

Here is something you can do to help make things more automatic. I will teach you how to add something to your remotes to connect to the channels on connect and identify yourself.

First you need to hit alt+r to bring up your remotes and then add this to it at the top:

on *:connect:{
   if ($network = AustIRC) { /msg nickserv identify <password> | /join #Torrent-Invites l3tm3in | /join #invites }
}

replace <password> with your nickserv password and hit ok.

Now next time you connect to the server it should auto identify and join the channels. If you need any more help feel free to send me a pm on account that I have been scripting for mIRC for years.
