Default Teamspeak Server on Mac Os X

In this Tutorial, you will learn how to install and run your own Teamspeak3 Server on your Mac Os X.

    Step1: Dowload of needed Tools

Go to this page and download Mac Os X Server and also the Client.
    TeamSpeak - Downloads

Step 2: Decompresse and move the files

    Decompresse the archive.
You will have a folder named "teamspeak3-server_mac".
This folder contains everything what's needed to run the server.
Move the folder to /Users/'yourusername'/ (you can move it to wherever you want, you just have to change the path from tutorial to the one you need)

Step 3: Starting the Server and get your Serveradmin infos

Now your ready to start your server.
Open a Terminal window and a new Textedit file.

command lines to start the server:
    Code:
    cd /Users/'yourusername'/teamspeak3-server_mac
    ./ts3server_mac
    Now your server is running.
Look on your Terminal Window, you will see like 2 Info Windows.
In the first one, you will find your Serveradmin id and password (write them on your Textedit file)
In the second one, you will find your (privilege key) token (write it also on your Textedit file). This will be needed for your first connection with your Client on your Server.

Do not close the Terminal window!!! That will stop your Server!!

    Step 4: Connecting with Client

Now that your Server is running, you have to connect to it with your Client.

Start the Client that you downloaded at the beginning of this Tutorial.
    Clic on Connections / Connect

    Server adresse: localhost
Name: whatever you want as username (don't need a Password)

    Clic on Connect.

You will be prompt asked for your (privilege key) token that you writed on your Textedit file.
Put your token en clic on "OK"

Now your connected to your own Teamspeak3 Server!!!!

Step 5: Portforwarding (needed to let your friends connect to your Server)

With your favorite Browser, connect to your Router, and Forward the next Ports to your Local IP.

    - 9987 UDP ( to alow connection to Server)
    - 10011 TCP ( to alow connection to sql_serverquery)
    - 30033 TCP ( for file transfers)

If you don't know how to Forward Ports, you can go to this page, there are the instructions for most of the Routers:
Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com

Now you just need to give your external IP to your friends or create a DNS redirection and share it with them

    Step 6: Server License

For the moment, your Server just has 32 slots.
If you need more, you can ask a free Non-Profit License here:
    https://sales.tritoncia.com/users/register.php

This licence will upgrade your Server for 512 slots and you can create 9 virtual Servers on your Server. But keep in mind that all Virtual Server will use another Port. You will need to forward that Port too.

Hope that this will help some people......

If you need help, PM me and i will answer
    roamer and tacocoglis like this.

When I was running linux software on my old mac, I hated that I had to remember the command to get the service started. But you can add the line

    ./Users/'yourusername'/teamspeak3-server_mac/ts3server_mac

to your .profile meaning that it will start up automatically every time you log into your mac.

to get into your .profile you can type on a terminal window
    open -a TextEdit .profile

to open your .profile into a gui text editor.
