As I'm using imgur firefox plugin for screenshots.

You can make full screenshots as well as selective screenshots of websites. You can even put non-visible areas, to clarify those are areas of the website that you only can see if you scroll down, into the screenshot by extending the rectangle via dragging the corners.

They also put it directly in your imgur account so you can edit them there if you need to.

Lightshot is the best in my opinion, it just makes you push prntscrn and bam select the area you want screenshotted and it uploads it

    I use Greenshot, alot.

It lets you take a whole screenshot or a section of a screenshot only. Then it drops it into Greenshot and you can annotate or obfuscate or highlight it up. Primarily it helps @ work since it lets me do screen shots for a developer, highlight or mark it up and then I can copy it right into an email with one click.

Nice, easy, fast and free. Plus it's open source.

The Snipping Tool that comes with Windows 7 is pretty robust covers most requirements. The only thing it doesn't do is take screenshots of entire web pages (i.e. when you need to scroll down to see the rest of a page). For these instances I use the Awesome Screenshot extension for Chrome.

if you have Firefox you can use Awesome Screenshot extension for example. There are multiple other extensions to do that.

For tutorials when i need a lot of edits (arrows, text boxes, pixelate sensible info), i use PicPick. It's a bit like hypersnap and Snagit without the stamps of Snagit. Very easy to use, and free for non commercial use. I think it's the most complete in the freeware league, even better than some paid apps.

I second Greenshot. I used to use ScreenSeize, since it was a self contained executable and I could take it anywhere; however, ScreenSeize will not work with multiple monitors. Greenshot works great and also has many more features.
