    Default Attention Comcast/Xfinity Users

A couple of days ago, I was waiting for a confirmation email for an invite as many of you have done in the past; I noticed that I never recieved it. I PM the member who gave me the invite and told him I hadn't recieved it yet. He checked and said that I was registered and the confirmation email had been sent and that he would do it again. But I still didn't recieve it. So, thanks to Budapest, he PM me and said that he was checking the forms and irc to see if there is a problem. Later that day, Budapest PM me back and said, your email has been taken out of the DB, it has to be an email like gmail. Comcast/Xfinity kills emails from this torrent and other torrent sites. I thought this might be helpful to some members. Again, thanks Budapest.

Happy New Year to the TI family.

I do not understand the concept of this provider choosing to be the Internet police and am considering dropping Comcast for that reason would actually like to find out if what they are actually doing is legal as sounds like a violation of peoples privacy to me

Does anyone know how the lenient they are to notifications from RIAA and similar regarding your torrent activity? Do they drop repeat offenders even though it costs them your business?

I have received 7 DMCA notices from Comcast overa three month period. It was quite some time ago..before I moved to private trackers...All they did was send my wife an email (the service is in her name) and I never heard anything again..

    YMMV

I got a letter from them last year too. Never heard from them again. Then again it was after I got a file off a public tracker, and since then I have stuck to private trackers.

Comcast has been known to be horribly bittorrent unfriendly, I don't see how you torrent on a connection that is limited to 200 GB a month, I do that in a week on crappy internet.

I have Comcast internet and I hate it....

When I can afford my own place, I will not be getting Comcast internet.
I used to think they were good, because the speeds were better than most ISP's around here. But their rules suck so bad. Their torrent throttling.... and now blocking emails from certain torrent sites.

Also the 250gb monthly cap.... That if you go over, they cut off your service.... and on their website they try and make it seem like 250gb is soooo much, and you will never use that much. Thats a bunch of crap. I could use 250gb on all completely legal torrents.

I got a letter from them about a month or two ago. Thats when I started looking into private trackers. It is completely an invasion of privacy. Its one thing to send someone a notice letter when they have been informed of infringment.... but its a whole other ball park when you start blocking emails from specific sites. Torrenting is not illegal. You can download Legal torrents all day. Does Comcast care? nope.

Besides, its as if they think that is the only email address you can get.......

I have nothing more to say except, anyone looking into ISP's. Stray Away from Crapcast.
