Was there a thread that you liked and you wanted to check it for new posts, but you didn't remember which thread was it? Were there many threads that you would like to check to see if new posts have been made?
You can do it! Subscription is one of the awesome things that exists here and at many other sites. If there is a thread you want check regurarly; or just check it once in a while you can subscribe to it!
There are only a few easy steps to do that.
1) First, find the thread you would like to subscribe to.
2) When you find a thread, click at the Thread Tools and select "Subscribe to this Thread".
3) Select if you want an email to be sent at your email address when someone posts.
You can select an email to be sent instantly or daily or monthly or not to be sent.
At this point you can also select in which folder will the subscription be moved at (I will talk below about that).
4) Click "Add Subscription" and your subscription to thread will be completed.
------------- How to check if new posts have been made --------------
When you want to see if a new post has been made at a thread you have subscribed to, just click UserCP.
If a post has been made you will see something similar as in the picture below. There will be a thread(or a lot threads) above the box of your reputation points which are the threads that posts have been made or threads that you subscribed before a little.
-------------------- How to check your subscriptions --------------------
If you would like to see the threads you have subscribed to, you just click at UserCP and then click at "List subscriptions".
Here you can see all the threads you have subscribed to, manage them; delete the subscriptions or organize them in folders.
--------------------- How to unsubscribe to a thread --------------------
You can un-sunscribe to a thread that you don't want anymore. You select it by ticking the box next to it, then select "Delete subscription" click "Go" and it will be deleted/un-subscribed.
Also, if by wrong you have subscribed to a thread that you didn't want to, you can click Threads Tools and select "Unsubscribe from this Thread"
---------- How to change email notification of a subscription ----------
You can change the email notification. If you want an email to be sent daily for example, you select the thread by ticking the box next to it, then select "Daily email notification", then you click "Go" and an email will be sent on daily basis from now on.
------------------- How to organize your subscriptions ------------------
You can organize your subscriptions. You can make Folders and organize them.
Click at UserCP and then "Edit Folders".
Here you can make new folders in order to organize your subscriptions.
Just write the names of the folders and click "Save folders".
Note: In the picture above, I have already created 3 more folders named "GiveAways", "Suggestions" and "Tracker Reviews" and I have clicked "Save folders".
After you click "Save folders" you will automatically redirected in the "List subscriptions".
You can select the threads/subscriptions you want by ticking the box near them, select "Move to folder..." and click "Go"
You select in which folder you want to move the subscription and click "Move Items".
If you organize them in folders and you want to see all the subscriptions together, you go at UserCP click at "List subscriptions" and then click "View all Subscribed Threads".
------------------------- Automatically Subscribe -------------------------
You have the option to subscribe at every thread you post. This is useful when you want not to miss the answers and the opinions of other members for the subject you have posted about.
To enable this option, go at UserCP, click "Edit Options", go at the section "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and select which subscription you want.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial!
