As an addendum to the previous post I made.., I've been posting quite a lot today (looks like today is a quiet one, the house is a mess lol). I've been having a lot of fun seeking out the people who have liked or given me rep.., seen a lot of posts on the forum, made a fair few myself (made it difficult to remember who I was seeking out cause u get quite involved in the different threads lol) and so I'd like to say thanks once again for your post F1member. Its not just about rep points, its about finding out about the forum and taking part and having a bit of fun! I liked the forum (after all I found it cause every time I googled about something I didn't know about seedboxes posts from here came up lol).., and now I feel much more a part of the community. I'm a bit on the shy side so sometimes us users need a tactful shove to do that lolol!

    Good work as always F1,

I am just happy for myself that I already knew most of the stuff written there. But for those that have not found that this is not only a place where you can get some important invites this is very good reminding. Community is the most important.

    Cheers everyone.

P.S.: I little suggestion, sending this to the new members in the intro section will be very helpful for them.

I have found that the "Forum Games" like "Rate the avatar above you", "tell a lie about the person above you" ets. is a good and also fun way to get noticed, you won`t get any rep. but people get an impression of what you are like and maybe this will spark a discuttion elsewhere or perhaps a friendship.
Thanks for the great tips F1!

Great post. I signed up, but wasn't sure were to start for getting rep. This post, and the links to others will be of big help. I also agree with PROMOTER about sending this to new members.

If you want to get noticed, an advice is to get a unique avatar as you. I often remember people by looking at their avatars. (Yes, I know, I haven't got it myself yet but it is coming.) This will definitely get you noticed and people will click into your profile and see what you are up to. Maybe read some of your posts and find something helpful and rep you. I do it that way.

Great post, man! But I'll stick with @PROXIE . In life you don't have to do much to have some reputation. If you're good just be yourself and you'll earn it naturally. And if you like being useful, if you have some skills and time to write/help others, you'll turn into a social comet. But be careful with all that, because if you become too absent or take away all that carefullness, helpness, warmness, (love?)..., we'll miss you and we'll cry for them, out loud. Does it look like something you know? Are you thinking about marriage? Exactly, mate, if you have some reputation is because you're actually married to the community that gave that reputation, and the "rules" are pretty much the same. ;)

@Lefteris first of all, don't believe/count on everything that PROXIE says. He's surely one of those that believe in reputation (although I don't know in what way :P) and he expresses most of his feelings through a rep message as well.

Now as for your opinion that " In life you don't have to do much to have some reputation. If you're good just be yourself and you'll earn it naturally."
I will have to disagree. You have to do many things to have some rep or to even make friends. It isn't just a natural procedure. If it was, there would be no lonely people or unjustified. It would be great if we all just act naturally, making no effort and gain reputation, but I am afraid that it takes more than that. Not too much, but still more. That doesn't mean that we don't enjoy all that effort and work. The opposite. :)

" But be careful with all that, because if you become too absent or take away all that carefullness, helpness, warmness, (love?)..., we'll miss you and we'll cry for them, out loud. Can you please explain what that means, because I am having a problem understanding the conclusion :/

ps @PROXIE you can read that too :P

@F1member, I agree with you, we have to put effort and work in everything in life, but you're talking about choosing what kind of reputation I want to have. If I choose to have a reputation of being a nice guy, what kind of work I have to do to be that? Almost none. A nice guy is polite and answers politely everything people asks him, just like a smiley, no, sorry, with the smile you I become a very nice guy, stronger (or different?) reputation. But, well, let's add little effort on all that, let's say that I, the very nice guy, have helper tendencies, like giving my seat in the subway, or helping a (hot or not) neighbour carrying her groceries... wow I'm almost a handyman, with some skills my new reputation will let get into hottie's apartment. But if I want to be something different: popular. I'll have to make friends, yes, lots of work and effort. But if I want to be a politician I just need to have a name and money (at least here in Brazil), the effort: my father is a billionaire, so I just have to put some work in my own campaign and have also some acting skills, but if I'm a natural actor?, much less work. Sizing the effort it's all about choosing what kind of reputation I want to have, but, again, there's always some work to do, even if it's only showing my face or write some words, eventually. ;)

About the "people will miss you" part: I was talking about having a reputation of being very popular, it's the fastest way to grow in a community and to be that you have to be a very nice person and show carefullness, helpness, warmness and all that stuff make people get involved, make them "love" you and that felling also make them miss you if you become absent. So, quoting Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed".
