Hello everybody,
I've been thinking about writing this for a while but have shyed away because of how long i knew it would take, but i've decided that it is time i try and share my experience and a wealth of knowledge which i have gained over time (particularly in these last few months and largely from being on Torrent-Invites). Firstly, i would like to thank everyone who has helped me, either by passing on their own knowledge to me, or standing up against me to put me on the right path at times. This guide is open to your input aswell; seeing as this is a community! What i'm going to attempt to do (this may end up being very long indeed!) Is to lay-out my advice on how to get where you want to in the BitTorrent world, in terms of private trackers etc. Much of this may seem very obvious to some of you, to others it may not.
Part 1 - The Aim:
It would be impossible for me to structure this as a step-by-step guide to getting to say FtN or ScT for example. This is because the way that users gain entry to these sites and many other trackers on all different levels differs largely. However, what i'm going to do is place some emphasis on reaching different private trackers through using Torrent-Invites. Whether they are FtN or Bitsoup (no disrespect), everyone must start somewhere. Also not everyone wants the higher level sites, as to be honest (imho) for many people, they simply don't need to have that Family Guy episode 3 minutes before it's available on IPTorrents. For that reason, this guide will not just focus on the higher level trackers, but all trackers and how good social-networking can get even you, (yes you!) into some nice trackers. The aim overall is to help you understand a bit more about the world of private trackers and the hard work required to land yourself those sought after tracker invites that you want. Enough rambling now though, let's move on to a part which isn't me telling you what i'm going to tell you in the next part!
Part 2 - The Beginning:
In the next part, i'm going to touch on... (Just Kidding)
Okay, so let's get started! Let us assume that you have come to Torrent-Invites a total n**b. You've never downloaded a torrent from any other tracker than ThePirateBay (no disrespect once again) and you really don't know or understand a whole lot, if anything about the different private trackers, their content and their levels. As much as i would love to sit here and right a totally off-topic part about all of the different private trackers, their levels & their content, I simply don't have the time as it would take forever. However, just like me when i started i spent several hours, maybe days, using "TheGoogle" (as my girlfriend calls it) finding out information about private trackers, all of the hype and the different levels. Before reading further, i suggest you do this now. I will provide some links below for information regarding different private trackers, it may be slightly outdated but it'll certainly do for now:
The Top 50 Requested Private Tracker Sites (Tracker levels/content)
Private Tracker Levels With Updated Rankings (Tracker levels)
Okay, let's continue. I assume by now that you know & understand at least a little about the different private trackers. Hopefully you've chosen a few that you'd like to find invites to eventually or you may already know this. It can be useful to have a goal or something you are aiming towards.
Part 3 - Getting Started:
Imagine this community and your part here as a ratio on a private tracker, the more you upload (give) the higher your ratio, and the more the community likes you. The more liked you are, the more likely you are to find what you are looking for. There are many ways of giving to this community, but here are the important ones that i try and do myself.
1) Always be kind, polite, nice and respectful etc to everyone you come across. This is extremely important and i will emphasise this throughout this whole guide. It really is true what they say, being nice gets you a long way and it really does in this community. I really can't tell you enough how much making an effort to be nice in general and help other users of the community will in turn help you. Many invites i have received have been from people telling me that they think i'm a nice guy or trust me and that's why they chose me, i've even been PMed by people offering me invites when i haven't even asked yet! (Without trying to sound arrogant...).
2) Try your best to be an active member of these forums and the community, the community thrives from its active members and of course from those members giving away their invites here. There are other tracker invite sites similar to Torrent-Invites, but T-I is by far the best i've come across, and i decided to only focus on this one. I suggest you do the same, it makes sense. The reason it makes sense is that your progress on this site comes through giving away invites (of which you have a limited amount) and spending time on here, helping out other users and being an active member (you also have a limited amount of time). Therefore, it makes no sense to split your invites and time between multiple sites as it would result in very small progress on a few sites, rather than much progress on one. Take me for example, i've been here for only two months, in that time i've always tried to be nice and respectful and i've done my best to help the community and other users, i've given away all of my invites here as much as possible and i have been rewarded with the great trackers you can see in my signature below. I've only focused on this one site and you should too. Give all of your invites away on here to those users who deserve them and you will be rewarded in turn!
3) Always follow the rules and take the time to read them carefully, be wary of the the new rules that come up every now and then and abide by them. Do not break any rules, this includes site forum rules and of people giveaways etc, by being a good user here you will build up a positive reputation and this will help you to get tracker invites (particularly the higher level ones). It really isn't hard to be a good member.
4) The "unwritten wrongs/rules" are those that you should know instinctively not to do. These include things like trading invites/accounts that you have received here or giving away bonus points which you have just received. You will know yourself when you are doing something bad, all i can say is don't do it, you will lose your account and all of your hard work will have gone to waste. I'd also like to add, i am against trading, you can get whatever you want in the Torrent world without trading. It will take some time and effort, but you are safe in the knowledge that you won't be banned. Also many high level invites are only given to those users who have never traded.
That was a little longer than i intended so i'm sorry! The key thing really is to be nice to everyone, make friends and follow the rules! So let's continue, to get started you will want to get yourself known around here by talking to people, posting in topics in the forums and giving away invites. So go ahead if you haven't already, one of your goals is to build up your post count in these forums. However, don't do it by spamming threads with one word answers, just be patient and be an active member!
