    Default No connection to rTorrent error

    Hi,

    I don't why I cannot access my seedbox. An error appears "[27.10.2011 14:40:09] No connection to rTorrent. Check if it is really running. Check $scgi_port and $scgi_host settings in config.php and scgi_port in rTorrent configuration file."

    I'm check rtorrent is working through command
    /etc/init.d/autodl_<rtorrent_user> status
    I also check a port on .rtorrent.rc and config.php. It's the same.

    So should I do to keep my rutorrent working?

    Can you give us some more details? Is this a vendor configured seedbox or a server that you have set up yourself? And more to the point, was it ever working for you? If it was working recently and you haven't been messing with the configuration.. then it is unlikely to be a wrong port or firewall issue.

    Most of the time this message indicates that rtorrent has crashed or locked up. Rebooting your server/seedbox will resolve this most of the time. If you are familiar with the command line, check the process list to see if rtorrent is running or has spurious instances. Then kill the processes and restart rtorrent with screen. If all of that just sounded like greek to you.. then simply reboot your server instead.

    $ ps aux | grep rtorrent

    Let us know if restarting rtorrent or rebooting resolved the problem. And if you were tinkering with the configuration.. then we will need to look at what you were doing there as well. If you were editing the config or have corrupt dependencies.. then it could also be a firewall issue, XML-RPC problem, etc.

    Hi copper, many thanks. I restarted my server and rtorrent many times. But my rutorrent didn't work. I just reinstalled rtorrent. Of course, after that it works well now. However, I must download torrents and seed at beginning :)

    if rebooting the r torrent and the system does not help, then u have to reconfigure the r torrent with xmlrpc-c flag.
    Apache, Lighttpd server have them inbuilt.

    This page/forum may help.

    Setup of SCGI port

    It is better to use
    scgi_port = 127.0.0.1:50000
    then
    scgi_port = 127.0.0.1:23876
