Review - Great experience so far with seedboxhosting.com
I just thought I'd let all the newbies out there (like me) who don't have any experience with using a seedbox know how amazing they can be. I signed up with seedboxhosting.com at the $47/mo level and I'm absolutely amazed at the speeds I'm getting.
I only have access to a few private trackers right now but I downloaded 10 Bluray movies in the last 24 hours and have already maxed my 50GB of available space! I have sustained average download rates of 3000-5000kb/s and 800-1500kb/s up!!! I'm currently seeding all of those movies and I can already see that hard drive space is an issue for me. I want to make sure I seed to a 2:1 ratio wh (1.5:1 at a minimum) on every torrent I download, which is what I'm currently doing, but I'm frustrated that I can't start any new downloads until I'm done seeding because I've already maxed out the 50GB.
Anyway, I would highly recommend getting a seedbox if you're a heavy user--especialy if you like HD TV shows and movies that are large in size. It's really amazing to be able to download and upload so quickly--all without having to bog down your home connection. I let their servers do all the work and I just download the file when it's done.
seedboxhosting.com doens't cap your bandwidth so you can dl as much as you want. The only restriction is the size of the hard drive.
If you have any questions about seedboxes, feel free to comment or pm me. I'll help as much as I can.
Lastly, here's a good link to a seedbox review site:

I agree. I have seedbox hosting too. They are a good seedbox. I am even willing to let someone use 25GB of my 50GB of space if they want. You can use up to 4 download / Upload slot, and I will restrain my self to the same. I would as that you keep your dl/ul at 5000Kbs. you have to set that your self. And you can't be using it on RevoTT.

OS--Do you have any interest in sharing a dedicated server with me on a 1gbit connection? I just got a new server set up with a 250gb hard drive and I'm looking to share it with 2-4 other people. I'm only looking to recoup my monthly costs. So far I've been averaging 18000kbps across 8 torrents! The 1gbit connection is ridiculously fast. Let me know if you're interested.

Just an update:
I have recently cancelled my account with seedboxhosting.com. I have no complaints and it was a GREAT service as far as speed was concerned but I moved on to a dedicated server through an OVH reseller on a 1gbit port. It's going to be hard going back to 100mbit after this!
I would still recommend seedboxhosting.com but make sure you do your homework and look around. You can probably find similar services for less than $47/mo.
PM me if you want to know who I use.

The difference between a seedbox and a dedicated server

The difference comes down mostly to three things.
1. Access - When you have a dedicated server you actually have your own box sitting in a data center someplace and it's yours to pretty much do what you want. You will have root access and most of the time be able to set up remote desktop connection. For instance, my server runs Ubuntu and I can easily remote login from anywhere to the actual desktop of the server. From there you can set up additional user accounts which makes it easy to share your server with other to help offset costs.
2. Speed - With a regular seedbox in the $10-$80/mo range you are sharing your server resources and bandwidth with other users. This is why speeds vary so much between different providers. They each have their own parameters as to how many individuals users they will allocate to each server.
3. Configuration Options - When you go the dedicated server route you not only guarantee your performance speeds, since nobody else has access unless you grant it to them, but you have a ton of different options in regards to configuring your server. You can increase your HD storage space significantly without incurring ridiculous costs from seedbox providers.
I hope that helps clear things up at least a little bit for you. At the end of the day a seedbox is more of a general term that encompasses any remote server access that is set up for the purpose of sharing torrents. Seedboxes will almost always come with a simple web interface like torrentflux or uTorrent. A seedbox can be set up on a shared server or on a dedicated one. They are all seedboxes but the dedicated server gives you much more control as described above.

what do you want per share on the giga box ? :)
what are the box specs... OS on box, what is the partition format.. do you have crypted partitions, more info needed....
if shared i would only be after the shell account and not seedhosting, plus some installs of things from you as root.
