I got an e-mail offer from Xirvik earlier today. It looks like they have purchased some new servers from a Datacenter in Germany. Powerful unmetered boxes that are supposed to eliminate the shenanigans currently going on with OVH boxes.

I'm getting one too. I'm second guessing if it was worth it or not. Maybe just taking that 50 bucks and going with a straight up dedicated server was the way to go. I'll also post my thoughts and am open to suggestion as to dedicated boxes that are in the 50 dollar range.

rapidspeeds have a kimsufi package for 50 dollars, but it has the setup fee. but every now and then a setup fee free package comes along. I have one of those setup free kimisufi packages and i max it out all the time.

Being truly unmetered is what sold me on the Xirvik box. I've rented one from them before for a week w/ a 10 torrent max and pushed out close to 3TB's.

We'll see how it goes. I signed up as a non-renewal and will make a decision after I see what it can do.

I'm currently subscribed to Xirvik's dedicated Plan 1500. I've been using it for about a month now and everything have been superb.

I just subscribed to the German Power Semidedi to test out how it compares to the France semidedi which I never did like. A quad core and 8 GB RAM spread between four users should be decent. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Will post some stats when I get the server. Seems like it will be as late as Tuesday, though.

Delivered and after coming off of the 35 dollar french server, it's really fast. FTP maxes me out and adding and deleting files is much snappier. I dont have that much experience, but i compare it to going to an lcd after using a crt all your life.

Nope. I just emailed them about it. Hopefully, I get mine by tonight or mid-day tomorrow. If not, I'm going to request a refund.

Well they were nice enough to extend my old box until the new one came in, the problem is that they wiped my data completely when they said i had 24 hours. I even asked them to transfer the data from the old to new server but it looks like i got reamed.

Anyway they told me tomorrow or Thursday. I may ask for a refund if they don't honor the free week which they haven't even acknowledged. I may put up a new thread for a new 50 dollar range dedicated seedbox. The one above me has a crazy high setup fee.

i assume your talking about the one I posted? If so, just keep checking back every few days, as they do have some c-05g's without the setup fee, i got mine without the setup fee. Next ImageNext Image

I got my box 90 mins prior to the cutoff to earn the free week.

Haven't done much with it yet but I am hugely disappointed to find out that it doesn't unrar files. What's the point of having all the extra horsepower if you can't unrar a file???

Really hinders my ability to submit on the TvT tracker.
