Default Auto uploading torrents to your seedbox

After some searching i finally found a program that does what i wanted it to do. I was in search of a program that would automatically upload torrents that i downloaded to my pc and upload them to the watchdir on my seedbox so that i didn't have to babysit rtorrent.

Fling is useful if you are using a shared seedbox that you dont have root access on. If you are using a autodownloader for 1 or more if your trackers this is where it really shines. If you dont us autodownloaders it still can be a very useful program without them.

Its not very hard to to setup but i will throw in some pics and what not just for the hell of it.

You can download Fling here. http://www.nchsoftware.com/ftp/flsetup.exe

    Go ahead and install it.

Before opening fling if you don't already have one make a folder on your pc that you will use just for the torrent files that you want uploaded automatically
    for example c:\torrents

Now open up fling and click the "New" tab towards the top

Mark "to back up files over the internet using FTP"
I use this option but there is multiple ways to get to the same results. Then hit next.

Enter in the details for your ftp account (watch out for the last option as this directory can differ)

After entering all details hit the "Test Ftp settings" just to make sure everything is all good then hit next.

This is where the folder you made comes into play or use your existing one, enter it and hit next.

Check the box for "Automatic (transfer files whenever a change is detected" and click Finnish

You will now see your Folder in the Fling window and its all ready to use. you can now exit from this window and it will run minimized in the background

    Optional
I found it to be annoying that it poped with each completed torrent if you want to disable this, go to

fling - options and uncheck "show upload ok message as bubble tip"

Now all we need is a good irc script or rss feed to automate the process.

Thanks for trying, but I couldn't get those apps to do what I wanted. I was however able to find a solution using automater. If there is a demand, I will make a tutorial for mac users.

Great tutorial Corynn, just wanted to know what would be best way of automating download .torrent file from trackers?

I have been looking at some auto download scripts, not sure what would best complement this.

You could either use RSS or an IRC script. IRC scripts are faster, and IMO better. Depending on the tracker, they may offer support for one, both or neither.

From my experinces most higher end torrent trackers offer a irc downloader witch is the best way to compliment it.

ok just started with first seedbox, got things down and uploading nicely. does fling upload the actual downloaded file or just the torrent file so the seedbox will start downloading it? sorry if this should be elsewhere, and if it seems obvious to some, but i am trying to get ftp set up to fetch downloaded files from seedbox and to upload already downloaded torrents from my pc to the box. any pointers, advice or links to good tutorials would be greatly appreciated.
