I know, but the router will be having its own file server /ftp that you'll have to connect to in order to copy the files
This is an awesome script. I've used it a couple of times on my CentOS dedicated server and haven't run into any issues. It does everything for you and it's easy even if you don't have bucket loads of experience in Linux like myself
I tried installing mediainfo. I installed it correct with wget http://rutorrent.googlecode.com/file...nfo-3.3.tar.gz in the directory /var/rutorrent/rutorrent/plugins.
I unpacked with tar command and eveything seemed to be fine. When refreshing my turtorrent GUI I was getting this message mediainfo: Plugin will not work. Webserver user can't access external program (mediainfo).
So I assume I need an external mediainfo program running for the plugin to function correctly??
The distro us Ubunutu 11.04 and raw distribution so all CLI (no desktop access).
Any help how to get mediainfo plugin operational would be appreciated. BTW, I installed with the script on the first page, so that is what is currently running.
Thanks
Never login as root?........you serious? This script can be ran PERFECTLY as root, all you need to do is make the user when prompted. When I made my first rutorrent box I used this script but has since moved on to a much better custom script which installs with one macro key stroke.
I'm guessing the emphasis by Regex22 is that one should never use a root account as a common practice and not that it should not be run as a root user (Though the script works perfectly fine with root). The reason is that some commands when run with root can lead to disastrous effects. The most notable one to me would be repackaging your own custom package e.g SRPM which could really cause unwanted mess when run with root.
