    Work in progress

Just ordered the semi dedi 3xl performance, eager to get setup and you can expect a detailed report on my opinion regarding my experience with Xirvik - stay tuned

    Name: Xirvik.com

    Speed: TBA

    Support:

Update: Ordered my box at 1136am, friday, march 5th gmt -5, received a username and password email at 332pm unfortunately the url they gave me to access my box in order to logon and use the username and password doesnt't work. Emailed them and added them on MSN in order to discuss my problem. They have yet to respond to my email to their support network, nor have they approved my registration on their support forum, nor have they been on MSN in order to approve my friend request so that I could actually talk to someone about my issue.

I am not really concerned YET....

I expected 12 hours for setup as per the top left of their website, else I get a free week and yet in the plan i ordered it says 24 hours. They really should syncronize the two so that customers know what the time frame actually is.

Since at present it has only been about 9 hours since I signed up I guess I have no choice but to wait and see if their customer service kicks in at some point.

Update: Finaly got a response from Xirvik on march 6th 618am (19 hours later) stating that and I quote

"It looks like a IP routing problem - for some reason your assigned IP address is not being routed to the server. We've opened a ticket with the datacenter so have it fixed immediately. Of course your account will actually start when the service is available to you. "
And then at 1202pm "we've verified that it's a IP routing issue. We've opened a ticket with the datacenter and we'll get back to you as soon as they reply, or if they don't - we'll create an account in a different server."

I have yet to receive access to my seebox and I begin to question the customer sevice of Xirvik. Typical setup being listed as 24 hours on the 3xl package I bought, it has now been almost 32 hours. They have yet to approve my friend request on MSN messenger, nor have they approved my registration on their beta forum so I can make a post in the support section of their forum. So I emailed then to indicate I received their email and I waited.

Update: 56 hours from purchase, 32 hours from last contact, I decided to email them again and expressed my displeasure politely. Still haven't activated my username on support forums, still no sign of them on MSN

Update: 86 hours after purchase and 37 hours after last contact I received an email from Xirvik
    "Hi,

This datacenter is just slow on weekends; we ordered a replacement server but they haven't delivered it yet. We think everything will be taken care of today - anyway if you want a refund you can of course have it.

We do use MSN and are connected to it right now.

About the forum, we validate users in batches to prevent spam - looks like the only way :-(

    Xirvik"
Willing to give them the benefit of the doubt I responded, thanked them for their email and awaited the activation of my seedbox.

16 hours later I actually caught them on MSN and inquired about my box, I was told they were still having issues with them. When asked about an ETA they responded we aren't exactly sure but likely within the next cpl of hours..

So here I am 100 hours since purchase and 26 hours since last contact still waiting for my box. I will send them one final email, polite but to the point regarding my box and report back.

Update: March 10th received a response from Xirvik

122 hours from purchase 22 hours from last contact

They apologized again and offered me a german power server, then 2 hours later claimed to have fixed my 3xl performance seedbox issue and gave me an extra week for my troubles and to their credit still maintained I could have the upgraded box

However when I tried to log into my 3xl performance box I found that the rutorrent interface loaded but would not d/l orr u/l, relogged on and then rutorrent interface would not load at all.

Emailed them and accepted their offer of an upgrade as the 3xl was still not working and here I wait.

GUI: rutorrent / wtorrent / rtgui

    Package: Semi Dedicated 3XL-performance

    Overall rating: TBA

Same as bonnieboo above, I have ordered a 3xl performance semi-dedi box from xirvik.

    Name: Xirvik.com

    Speed:
Status Update: So far the download speeds look very good, i have seen 6 MB/s, and upload speeds I have seen at 1 MB/s, with a total of 2.4MB/s. Looks to be promising.

    Support:

I emailed xirvik March 8th at 7:36 PST, I got a reply from them regarding my questions at 11:18 PST. I placed my order on March 9th 1:08 am. It has a 24 hour setup time, so we will see if I am up and running by tonight/tomorrow at ~1:00 am. Also as stated above, xirvik has yet to accept my MSN invite.

Status Update: I received username/password to WebUI/FTP/Proxy in half the time they said it would take. The email was received today March 9th at 1:40 pm.

    GUI: rutorrent/wtorrent/rtgui

Speed of GUI: Status Update: GUI is slightly slow, and I am noticing that the web UI does timeout pretty often. I will see if it continues to do so. I am surprised given the fact that I set it not to timeout unless it is over 10 seconds.

Status Update 2: After a few days of use there are no problems except for the occasional "time out" on the rTorrent log.

    Package: Semi Dedicated 3XL-performance

Extra: The package says it is 240gigs of space, but they actually gave me 300 gigs...awesome,

    Price: $34.95

    Overall rating: 9/10

I will also report my experience back here. :)

Note: I would recommend using fling, it allows me to manually download but auto-upload the torrents to the seedbox.

    Speed: 100Mbit (12.0 MB/s Down 12.0MB/s Up max advertised)
Support: Email - good support, responds quickly
GUI: rutorrent / wtorrent / rtgui
Speed of GUI: responsive, server is in USA as opposed to France
Package: SEMIDEDI EXTRALARGE 160GB *at the time it was 160GB
    Unlimited torrents, Unlimited traffic
    Price: $29.95 USD
    Overall rating: 7/10

Been using this tracker for 2 months

Trackers that won't work on this seedbox: (I haven't brought this issue with xirvik)
bitme, waffles (dunno if i need to tweak the box)

I too had my setup delayed because of ip issue mentioned in above two posts.

Down speeds are great, however, upload speeds are slow. i don't recommend this seedbox to anyone looking for fast uploads. Server located in USA, other packages are in France. I guess this may be the reason

This seedbox can limit bandwidth for uploads & downloads. Some people may like this feature.

Usually when u pay u need to have an email addy for paypal or whatever other service u used. So they will confirm and send u details to that email.

I have been on with Xirvik for several months. I pay $36.95 per month for my service? Not sure why it is more than the rates I see quoted here but I shall ask. The reason I am trolling this forun is because my seedbox went down yesterday and has yet to come back up. They said it was a hard disk failure. It is understandable to have a hardware failure but I think 24 hours is reasonable to expect a hard disk to be replaced. It seems they are a responsible company but they are at the mercy of the data center they employ to provide their service and that data center does not seem very responsive.

I will give it through today then switch to another company if this is not resolved. I will also be asking why my rates are different then those quoted here. It should be noted that unlike other companies I have used their policy stops your torrents from seeding when they reach a specified percentage. I have not really found that to be a problem as you can still maintain a very good ratio but they do not advertise this fact.

Update: They had me back online within 48 hours. To be fair to Xirvik the problem occurred over a weekend when response time at the data center would have been at it's slowest.

I did ask about the $36.95 I have been paying and they responded that it was their only rate for my service and any other rate I had seen quoted must have been a misprint. This company seems responsible and concerned about the quality of their service. Hard to fault them in what appears to be a sea of unreliable companies.

    My experience with Xirvik seedbox
Initially it was very good, the support was excellent and seedbox had great speeds and prices. But in recent times the support is terrible. They take hours to respond and often I am treated poorly. Not to mention misleading or false informations (I have screens and logs). It is a pity, because Xirvik was a great seedbox. Currently not recommend to anyone else.
