    Name: xirvik
    Speed: 100 mbps
Support: Live Chat is unresponsive and Email Support is slow
GUI: rutorrent/wtorrent/(And some other one that never works)
Speed of GUI: Non Stop timeouts on rutorrent, but everything ran fine
    Package: XL - (US server)
    Price: $29.95usd
    Overall rating: 6/10

I will not be giving business to Xirvik again.

Last week my box went down 3 times in three days and again today my box is down; going on 12 hours now. Live support is unresponsive and email support is slow. I have asked several times if they knew why my box keeps going down and they do not respond. When i managed to get support through their live chat, they restarted my box and as soon as I asked for some info regarding the down time, they terminated the chat. After the second time my box went down and I asked why, they said they need my box to be up inorder to check the logs, but they never got back to me.

I use their XL shared box and I recently switched to a US server cuz their France boxes were throttled; the move itself was a hassle since support was giving me conflicting information about transferring my data, which ultimately was not allowed, even though they had said it was. They did give me an extra two days to FTP my stuff, but two days was not enough to transfer 120GB on my home connection.

The shared boxes give you little in the way of control and their pre-assigned port ranges are not permitted on P***s, so the box is useless there. Not to mention that the IP range for their US boxes was banned at Bitme, BMTV and Waffles. Upload speeds never seem to go above 4Mbps - EVER. Download speeds are typical for a shared box.

I did like that they allow the use of their box as a proxy to surf the net.

    --------------------------

    EDIT
: After my box was down for 48 hours I was contacted by Support and they informed me that the data center reported a bad memory module. The down time was not the fault of Xirvik. I worked it out with them, and despite the fault not lying with Xirvik, I decided not to continue service with them - I just don't think that my particular needs were well suited there.

    What server is it/was?

We NEVER do this. We may take a while to answer if we need to check out what happened, but we never terminate a chat if the user is waiting for reply.

You might want to ask P****s why they want to impose anyone's a port range. It's not really their business. Still we have changed the port number just to accomodate this specific tracker.

This is not accurate. They ban the whole US datacenter - it's not Xirvik servers there, it's everybody's.

Semidedicated servers have NO LIMITS for any of the 3 users. So all of them are trying to get the most of out of server. 4 MB/s is reasonable - the line is maxed out by the 3 users.

    It happened; I was there.

In that particular instance, no one actually responded to me in live chat, they just reset my box when I said it was down and then when I asked what the problem was, the chat was terminated. I guess since they never acknowledged me then it doesn't count as having ended our conversation prematurely; I stand corrected :001_smile:

P***s blocks all ports below 49151, so the default port range imposed by Xirvik is not permitted. They claim it's for security.

Regardless of what IP range is banned, if you are on a US box from Xirvik then you are banned from the above mentioned siites, which was not the case when using a France box from Xirvik. It may be that those sites ban the whole data center, but if this is common knowledge amongst Xirvik staff then perhaps it's worth mentioning to potential new customers. Had I known, I probably would have stayed with a throttled France box, since the speeds are the same as the US one I am on now and I wasn't IP banned from any sites.

I wasn't suggesting that the boxes are capped; just making a statement of fact, based on my experience on both France and US servers from Xirvik. It's perfectly understandable that shared boxes will fluctuate; I'm just saying that in my experience, it has never once fluctuated above 4Mbps - EVER.

I know of many people who find the service to be exactly what they need - to each his own :D

    GUI:
    rutorrent / wtorrent / rtgui
Speed of GUI: Fast at all time's
    Package:
    3XL - PERFORMANCE
    Price: $34.95 / month

This is my second seedbox. Got it setup in 15 minutes, pretty fast. In the description they offer 240GB disk space, but actually you get 300. Unlimited traffic + unlimited active torrent's is just amazing. FTP seems to be fast all time's, sometimes it's slow due to user's using all the bandwidth on the server. I get download at 10mb's and upload at 7mb's when the torrent is really popular. The speeds are great. I would suggest them. Planning to take a dedicated from them in the future.

EDIT: My subscription finished and I did not renew, because some stuff I wanted the admins to do , were not completed, after asking them 4 times on email. WebUI crashes sometimes or take's age's to load. Study better before buying. Cheers!

This is my first seedbox. I wanted to test a bit, so I only got 1 week. Setup Time was amazing, took them less than a hour at the evening in GMT+1. The speed was 7 down and 5 up when I had all 10 torrents running. The only thing that bugged me was that Torrentflux offers no possibility to automatically add Torrents.
If you want to try a seedbox, take it. You will see what you need and want. After the week you can look for a seedbox that can satisfy your needs.

    Hey guys,

quick question, slots per server 3, on the semidedicated 3xl performance package. Does that mean I am sharing the server with 2 other people? Pardon my ignorance just wanted to make sure.
JustJenna, TankGirl, Forbidden have passed muster ;)

yes, that is what that mean , but in some cases you can share just with 1 person if they have 1 slot not used.
