    Default seedbox from synth

    This week I was given a seedbox for my lotto winning of powerball from a long time ago. I was very happy and grateful to receive the prize.

    When I got the (first) seedbox I was told i had it for a week. within 24hrs the seedbox was capped at 10mbps and shutoff, and unusable.

    within a couple days he gave me a new box from a company called boxslots. This box crashed everytime it got to be close to full HD space. HE originally told me I had 330gb on the first box and did not inform me of the reduction in HD space on the second box (was only 300gb).

    After reporting the problem, and realizing I was getting hit and runs everywhere. he said the problem had been resolved, and rtorrent was restarted. However the work he had done on my seedbox all the folders were owned by 'root' user and I could not download anything.

    Long story short I got several hit and runs this week, my customer support from Synth took 24hrs at a minimum, now when I mention all the problems with the box after the fact, he says it was not his fault and kicks me out of the irc channel. I felt as though this information should be shared with people. Having this seedbox for a week screwed up alot of my tracker accounts. I wish I had never gotten it. I'm not flaming, I just wanted to share my horrible experience dealing with synth. I hope that nobody will have to go through what I went through.

    If needed I will post my irc logs that I saved of all my chats with Synth..

    Yes, there was some bumpiness and downtime on the box. However, I've been using the same slot you were referring to for the last day, and have had no issues whatsoever, and excellent speeds. Furthermore, Synth is not charging me for the time it is taking to get the box in working order. That's far better customer service than I have received from other seedbox providers, so all in all, I'm a happy customer, and have been a happy customer for the last few months.

    I am sorry to hear about your experience with the box lardo hopefully you will get your trackers squared away, but like Ender said it might have been an isolated issue

    Your incident is so isolated because you can't keep your story straight and you are rather insulting.

    The last line is after I kicked you.(I think I'm missing some in between because of the multiple computers I work from) I didn't have root though up until I said I did, and even then I explained the situation. Before that I had to act as a relay between support.

    There is the reason you were banned from the IRC. You've been talking down members in the IRC for awhile. Honestly, we were getting no where and I had a call to go help a client(As lame as an excuse that sounds for leaving at such a turning point). I couldn't be troubled with your childish behavior. Not to mention I said that you'd be getting 300 Gb on a Gbit connection(I might of only told Ender that actually who owned the box) because of the other server. It was the closest plan they have. Now to chronologically lay things out from where people might see it from my point of view.

    Bought OVH Server -> Setup Ender who is nice enough to share his server. -> OVH Changes the plans the next week and secretly downgrades my 100mbps unmetered to a 100mbps - 5Tb Bandwidth. I even have the invoice.

    I found this out a week before the server was due when I got an email from OVH saying I had hit my bandwidth limit. This is when you received the server and called it crap. There was no way to negotiate it with OVH so I decided I would replace everyone with a BoxSlot for free since this was unacceptable. I notified the owner at the time, Ender, about this move as well. At this time, I had just met the owner in the #torrent-invites channel. Really nice guy. However, all his seedboxes are kinda non-functional at the moment as you have witnessed. This is when I sent you the details and you forgot to mention that even the log in didn't work because of certain special characters. I contacted them and they got back to me saying it was working in a day.

    This is where I started to idle in the BoxSlots irc channel and talk with the guys. If you go to their site, we were the one's who offered to fix their Twitter feed and make a live currency converter script. The next day I was given root access to fix a few small problems on the server. I'll admit I'm not knowledgeable with nginx but I was able to fix the problem within the hour.

    I don't mean to call BoxSlots out on this, but there are still problems with a lot of seedbox features. However, I'm in charge now of rebuilding the whole process from the ground up. Their VPSs are amazing! Kinda prejudice there, but I was with them for 1 month on a 2gbit VPS before and had no problems. I didn't suspect the seedbox would be a different story and that is why I bought it for my clients.

    The problem that was never fixed you are referring to is because every user is chrooted (somehow) in their own home and if rtorrent hits its quota (yours was 300 GB) then it crashes. I don't deal with chrooted environments because I find them a nuisance to handle. I usually just make simple scripts and/or configurations to work around them. Not to mention I only got to have 1 chat with the coder who set everything up in a crash course to try and understand what was going on with his setup.

    I'm sorry about the hit-n-runs and how long it took me to get on BoxSlots' case because of my limited resources. However, I did everything in my power at the time to correct these problems as outlined above and to leave me accountable at the end is unjust. But heck, I'll still take the blame despite being the messenger. Things move on, but maybe next time you shouldn't insult the person trying to help you. I take huge offense to that outburst about stolen code.

    I'll admit it wasn't fair on your end either. I'd gladly offer you another BoxSlot (because that's the only seedbox we could substitute at the moment) but until I get this code cranked out and working 100% within the next week I would feel awful giving you another defective slot.
