Default Unpacking rar files through a seedbox.

I'll start off by saying I'm still learning seedboxes, and this is just a seedbox not a dedicated server or VPS. I try to unpack a torrent and it gives me a bunch of:

    " unrar: invalid option -- i
Try `unrar --help' or `unrar --usage' for more information."

What does this mean and what am I doing wrong.

    Thanks guys.

means ur using an invalid option (just as it says)
Type unrar --help and look at the options youj can use.
off the top of my head something like
unrar -x "NAME" <--(raplace "NAME" with the .rars file name) should unpack a torrent but thats going from memory.

You might wanna check out your seebox provider's FAQ section to see if they have tutorials or steps to take to access your seedbox. Just so you know what to look for and to give you a heads up, you're gonna wanna do this.

1.) Download Filezilla or similar in order to transfer your downloads from the seedbox to your computer (...read about SFTP).

2.) Check your seedbox profile page or software page to find out the server's hostname, port, username and password (This will make more sense when you read the FAQs or tutorials) and use this information on the SiteManager in Filezilla to log in.

3.) Choose the download you want to transfer to your computer, right-click, and choose 'download.'

I hope this helps. If anyone can add or clarify, please do so. Thanks!

In terminal, browse to the directory/folder of the rar file(s) you wish to unrar. Once inside the directory, type:

    Code:
    unrar x filename.rar
Of course, replace filename.rar with the actual file name of the .rar you wish to unzip. If you just start typing the first few letters of the file name and press tab, it will fill in the rest for you (neat shortcut).

@Amalgam: I'm not trying to get into an FTP, I'm trying to unpack downloaded torrents before transfering them to my computer.

@okgg: How would i get to the terminal with a basic seedbox? It's not dedicated or a vps.

i'm not sure i believe that. We are running 3.2 on all our boxes and unpack is working fine. I just tested it as a matter of fact before posting this.
