Thread: Would like some insight on errors I have been getting

I have gotten a lot of errors with "Bad response from server: (500 [error,list]) Link to XMLRPC failed. May be, rTorrent is down?" which upon trying to decipher this error I didn't get much other than rtorrent had to restart? I want to know why it needed to restart.



Another error I got was "Bad response from server: (0 [error,list]) " which I have no clue exactly what went wrong. I know some of you here really know your seedboxes inside and out so would like some help figuring out what is causing them.

The first error means rtorrent has crashed and needs to be started again. Since I assume you are with a reseller, they have a script that checks if rtorrent is down and starts it up. One known cause of this is if you try to delete large files through rutorrent. I get the second error if i refresh the rutorrent page after doing a webserver restart or if rtorrent isnt running, I also get it.

I have a seedbox and I get those error quite often too, basically it's nothing to worry about. It happened when your seedbox is busy or hit the limit on your server. Usually you will see this quite often on shared server.
