Thread: CuteFTP and Seedbox issue

Hi there,
Yesterday was the first day I tried to download sth from my box with cuteftp via a SFTP connection. I selected the file I wanted and the multipart download option (max) and it maxed out my download speed, however even if the the download speed was 2.24mb/s the file download progress had stuck at 0% for 20 minutes or so, then it went on 1% and stuck there another 20 mins and then the downloading stopped. What could be the problem ????
I forgot to mention that the file size was 12GB and with 2.24mb/s a file like this should be down in less than 3.5 hours and not in 20 hours as the cuteftp estimated.
Also I use comodo firewall and I have add cuteftp as an exeption in order to allow connections.

PS After that i used smartftp and it worked fine !!!

Some time cuteftp aint always right on time estimate keep in mind when you multi part download it splits the file in to 8 or so diff bits(depending on your settings) therefore the top % bar wont register anything for a little while also your downloading via sftp which is gonna take you a hell of alot long because its encrypting the data as your downloading makes the process take alot longer rather then ordinary ftp transfer

Well, with smartFTP it took 5 and a half hours (1.02 mb/s) to get the file downloaded and it was via SFTP. So I don't know whether or not it was just the SFTP the problem. I'll also try to transfer a file via FTP and see how the speed is later.

I tried via FTP but again while the down speed was very high the downloading progress was tooooooooo slow. Now i believe that the problem is cuteftp, because the speed that shows isn't real, or sth else that i haven't think of.
