nick i get roughly 400kb/s of a 20 mb connection, i shd be able to get speeds near 2.4mb/s , ive tried 3 or 4 ftp clients and ftp in explorer, no real difference, ive got a feeling my isp restricts ftp speeds, i shd be getting closer to my 2.4 mb/s, ive speedtested before downloading via ftp and there is definitely a restriction
im using filezille with 4 cinnections open... im running full speed from my home connection to my server

well SmartFTP Client works great for me , its true that i have only a 8mbit home connection but i get the max. of it when transfering files (aproximately 950kb/s)
I used FTPRush but that gave me horrible speeds, so I switched to SmartFTP and I'm liking the speeds. :D (500-1000k)
pretty happy with filezilla. great freeware software.
Yup Filezilla is great!! I get max speeds all the time
You just have to teak the settings a bit

ncFTP on Linux
cuteFTP if your going to grab one off torrents and filezilla if you want freeware.
