Seedboxes are awesome. I simply love them and would hate to go back to using a normal client after being spoiled by mine :)
ok i have a question i just got my first seed box like 20min ago so i added a torrent and it downloaded it but where are the files? on my computer? also i already had the files to this torrent so why did it have to redownload?
Consider Seedbox as a completely different computer with a high dléul connection attached to it. So now your files are downloaded at the seedbox which you have access to using ftp or other means (contact your seedbox support for that info)
You have to download the file again as the file was originally at your PC not on the seedbox. There is a way for you to put files on your seedbox and again you have to contact the support for that as it differs with different seedbox providers.
Well i sent them a email asking how to connect to my seed box with ftp so i can view the files. Hopefully they respond quickly, also if you need to know i signed up with ggshq.
Hallo to everyone, quite new to T-I and to the "seedbox" world.
If i understand well (the main idea), seedbox is like using a remote pc (server) from your desktop.
But...let me ask a couple of things.
1. You loggin in private trackers with your username...wright?
2. You can delete the files you download and are hosted in your seedbox at anytime you like and also...how can you transfer them to your own pc (by ftp?, by seedbox speeds?)????
3. Are you using any software or everything is done through a web browser?
4. Is the required setup difficult or not?
1 - You don't login from the seedbox. You download the torrent from the site to your home computer then you upload the torrent file to the seedbox via rtorrent interface. Yeah, you use your seedbox mostly with private trackers. Some seedboxes doesnt accept public trackers.
2 - all seedboxes have FTP access and you manage your files via FTP. They ask you to not delete files through the rtorrent interface, for example.
3 - it's all via a web browser. not even a plugin is installed.
4 - the seedbox provider has to do a setup, and it takes 48h usually. you dont set anything up on your end
These answers are based on the boxes from seedmonster.net. I have a SM03s.
If you need help setting up your own dedicated seedbox there is a tutorial that you can read here: http://www.torrent-invites.com/tutor...ver-setup.html. It's easy to follow and it is based on debian/ubuntu setup.
