Thread: Advice Request: Max Active Seed Load on OVH Server

I have a question for you seedbox efficienados.

What could you recommend the maximum STABLE load of seeding torrents on the OVH MG-Max(click here).



Any insight would be greatly appreciated. So thank you in advance for your time.

Depends hugely on OS, torrent client etc.

For example a headless box running centos 5.x and rTorrent will be able to run more torrents stable than a windows box with utorrent.

Not to mention the size of the torrents, the amount of files on the torrent, for example 100 10gb single file torrents will use less resources than 100 10gb torrents that has been split into 15mb split rar files, which used more open file handles etc.

Impossible to compare the stability of one system to another based on hardware alone, way too many factors.

Ubuntu 64bit with rtorrent and multiple users using rutorrent webgui.

And that on the hardware stated in the linked webpage.
