Default Torrentflux... do you have this problem?

Basically, I've made a DIY seedbox out of a server I've bought. I find that it works great and, love it. The only problem is that, if I'm not constantly refreshing the page, the torrents 'auto-die'. This seems to make half sense. It makes half-sense because PHP only executes when somebody is loading the page (usually). The other half, however, doesn't make sense: the actual downloader is in python and, it continues to execute when the page isn't loading thus, this suggests the script is capable of functioning without php. Thus I come to my question:
Why is it that if I leave the page for a while, all the torrents 'auto-die'?

The script seems capable of executing without the user. This is the main reason why I got the server (seed overnight without my computer on). Are there any tweaks I can do or, is there another system I can use that can work fine. Just to the latter: I only have FTP access (with PHP) and, shell access only occurs via close monitoring (ie. the staff effectively do what you ask) and, the server doesn't explicitly say "NO TORRENTS!" but I'm sure they won't be that happy either.

Anyway, THanks for your contributions and letting me into this community!

EDIT: Is there a way for rutorrent to install via a PHP script (since I can't really use shell)

I had Torrentflux-B4rt before, and speeds got realy slow when i loaded +100 torrents.

About rutorrent; thats a front end for rtorrent. Rtorrent is a commandline torrentclient, so at first you'll have to install rtorrent, and then add Rutorrent over it.
What you could try, is a php shell, but i doubt you will get the same privileges as a normal shell user.

Search for C99 shell, thats comes with a filemanager and a php shell, rename to something only you know, and i would suggest you removed it after you dont need it anymore, cuz this is used allot by hackers...

So, Torrentflux-B4rt works fine if I leave it alone (not auto-dying)

shall try out the shell and see what's possible. Is it possible to configure rutorrent to use an rtorrent binary in, say, a home folder?

ruTorrent will work fine with the rtorrent binary being located anywhere as long as the scgi ports match in both the configs.

Did you buy a dedicated server or a shared one?

shared unfortunately. However, I can take ports... (torrentflux has). If I got a dedi=more likely to be caught

What would you get caught for? o.0

If you use a c99 shell on the torrentflux host and somehow manage to get rTorrent+ruTorrent running then you will get kicked off the server too.

Torrentflux is mainly used by providers when they need to limit the active torrents etc as rTorrent still doesnt have this functionality.

Yep, but I can't seem to install rTorrent. As to getting caught, that's why I try to stay low. The admin isn't particularly careful at looking at all the open ports but, it is a risk and, I'm more likely to get away with it on a server with a lot of activity (I've purposely got ZNCs, BNCs and other services running I don't use to hide my torrent connections)

My only problem with torrentflux is that it keeps stopping... WHY! Now with C99, I have user-level access... I can't get enough access to install things though so, is there some Python or other scripted App I can run (doesn't necessarily need a web interface although, one would be nice)

You could get a reverse shell from that server depending on how things are configured, I am not going to tell you how to do this though.

You better stop this before getting kicked out xD

Anyway who is this provider (pm)? They are putting all of their users at risk

I will repeat myself, this is illegal. You can always try uploading a pre-compiled binary but I do not know how that will work as ruTorrent would need xmlrpc + scgi, you could just use rTorrent from the CLI, another option would be to get deluge running.

Sorry, Provider is not really... mainstream. I realise it's illegal (I'm not going to argue that my files are legit) but, we're not exactly legit here... I personally have used trackers to download many linux distros but, I'm sure many others have not.

A reverse shell is what I'm trying to do now... perhaps some escalation shellcode (time to pull out my Grey Hat Hacking book :)

BTW, wouldn't Deluge require X server?

Grey hat eh? This is pretty black hat xD.

I am not used to deluge but I think there is a packaged named "deluge-console" and "deluge-webui", I am not sure but those packages could run.

TIP: You do not need escalation code to get a reverse shell, one line of code is all you need for the reverse shell.
