If you can, may you please take screen captures of specifically max downloads, then just max uploads, and one with both fully loaded. Also, if possible could you attempt hashing any files. I know the servers contains 24 GB of RAM, but it'll be nice to have input on the time while re-hashing files that are 50+ GB. Thanks and much appreciated.

If only it isn't just 175 GB of space...

Interesting. I can't see that speed being that practical even on internal OVH transfers, what do SATA drives top out at 3Gbit in theory, but less than that in real world. I'm interested in the drive performance with whatever type of RAID they have on the box. Can we get some HDD benchmarks?

OK so here's some screenshots..I tried to get well seeded and popular torrents, as well as a public torrent in the mix..

Remember he server is running rTorrent with 10 slots allocated so I wasn't expecting to get 100MBs speeds in my ruTorrent...more than the speed, what I noticed right away is stability.

The box feels like a tank working with it..Some seedboxes feel thin. On this one you know you can pull alot of torrents and have them running through the pipe at decent consistent speeds..

Again, like MushroomMan and others say, the theoretical Hard Disk IO max on a 10Gb connection would kill the server..One thing I noticed straight away is that the global Upload and Download settings were capped at 12000kb each..

I'm assuming Xirflux adjusted the settings for that reason and maybe he can comment here..

Here's some shots. I'll let you draw your own conclusions:

A couple other notes..Xirflux takes great pains to get servers to people within 24hrs..I know this from his site and with having a seedbox with him before..This time I didn't expect to receive it for a few days cause of the limited nature of the box..It came very quickly..About 16hrs later..So good work Xirflux.

For my part, even though I like the stability, I'm going to continue to test the box this week and decide if I'll renew. I just received an EG-Best Of 1Gbs server and I'll set it up to compare the two a bit.

I would love to know what others think and what their results are..

Max speed of drives? Just add more drives :) Even a descent SATA raid card can easily handle 10Gb/s with 8 drives running raid 0

My 1 week plan ended 3 days ago and was gonna do a review on this, but just noticed a thread about it so ill post here instead. This is my honest opinion and results of my testing. Im being 100% biased here.

First, let me tell u that through my tests this server was a big let down. My average speed for the week was 2-3 mbps up and that was even with using an auto download script with SCC the whole week. I would say my max down was 33mbps and up was 17mbps. I never seen anything higher then that. It was totally not what i expected at all and i had a shared 100 mbit & 1 gbit box's that sustained twice as much higher speeds over a 1 week period. I was able to still seed 1TB in a week though, which is good.

Second, i had some issues with this server: I noticed if i had more then 4 torrents downloading rtorrent would come to a crawl. Everything would just get so slow i couldnt even stop a download nor could i open any other front-ends or ftp. Also in my opinion rutorrent is overloaded with to many plugins. The load and response time on rutorrent was very slow and aggrevating. When adding a torrent from specific trackers the torrent would not start at all. This happened to 3 different trackers of mine and it seemed like the client was banned for some reason. I had some more issues then this like rtorrent crashing on me twice and many minor issues like torrents taking long to connect to peers, speeds dropping low, rutorrent not updating itself, etc..

Third, there is no access to the server itself, which makes troubleshooting impossible. I was not able to see the tracker messages and errors, which i didnt like. Rutorrent was sometimes inaccessible & i was never able to use rtgui. Also rtorrent settings are pre-set and are pointless to change without access to the rc file, so basically i was stuck with those settings.

Overall, i would say its worth the money and is a great server for a rescue ratio or for the in-experienced seedbox user, but i would not get it for a month. I had too many issues over a week that during the end i just let it run out. Again i was still able to seed 1TB in a week which was a plus, but the issues i had i didnt like. I felt like i was quarantined to what i had and dont like that. I setup servers on a daily basis and personally i believe u can get more out of a dedi 100 mbit seedbox for the same or lower price as compared to this.

The drives are not SATA, they are SAS. SAS drives allow for 6Gbit/s data transfer speed. Xirvflux doesnt sell their own servers they are an OVH reseller(like most seedbox companies).

Its 10Gbps / 10 ppl= 1Gbps per person for $75 a month. There is better stuff at there for cheaper.

    Evolutionary:

Got a OVH Best Of myself with a couple of very good mates (rented from ovh directly) and it did 75 mb/s on fpx, record on torrent was 55-60 mb/s @ SCC so far... The hdd i/o load is indeed killing good speeds if you got a lot of stuff going on (limiting the speeds to 20-30 mb/s "only" even though the server got 8,0 GB RAM and Xeon Quad @ 4x 2.83+ GHz. But it's simply the hdd, especially if you got all your stuff crypted).

What would be really interessting was having a 10 Gbit Server with SSD for yourself (the ScT torrent speed record was done with SSD @ Dual Gbit, too) :P
