    Default TorrentSwift Iusses..

Well lets start out from the beginning.

I paid for the $60 package that had Remote Desktop + uTorrent.
However I am unable to connect via NX Client as they suggested because no Port # was given.
Also same goes for uTorrent .. i need a port number after the url in order to login.

There support takes forever to respond on such a simple matter. I don't know if anyone else is having issues like this, or know how I can resolve them without the help of Their tech support team.

For your utorrent webui port the default is 8080. U might want to try that out to see if that works. A lot of providers usually leave it on the default port when setting up utorrent. Also im not 100 % certain, but nx uses the ssh port # 22. Sorry if i was too late in answering this if u fixed your problem. U may want to email torrentswift to get all your correct details.

just noticed this as well, must have slipped by. yes, I've got the 80/month plan with them and I'm having the same issues. I used torrentflux for the first month, but then got tired of it and wanted a change of scenery. tried to connect with remote desktop, wouldn't connect.

I was instructed 4 days later to "rebuild" the box on the power page in the client area. the option was not available. 2 days later, they rebuilt it for me, costing me data I hadn't transferred to my home computer yet.

now, I'm able to log in to NX, see the desktop, but all the terminal commands are blocked. I can't install any additional software. this wouldn't normally be a problem, but when I try to run the utorrent that they have installed, it doesn't do anything. I can't change wine settings, I'm reluctant to uninstall wine and try to reinstall since I can't install anything else. my last support ticket (my 6th in the last month) came back as "try to reboot the box, if that doesn't work, give me your password for NX."

meaning: whoever is going to try to fix this problem with utorrent is going to be logging in as me. the user who can't do anything at all. we're on day 2 after I gave him my password to log in. and I'm on day 10 of not using it.

you aren't the only one in this doomed boat, my friend.

Well here's an update on the issue... I think i just hit John with a hard one..

I uploaded some music files to the server... and i re-downloaded them back onto my pc... I compaired the original file before uploading, to the file i just uploaded... different size, and there were semi-pauses in the track... like it would get quiet for a split second and continue the song. This happened at least half a dozen times. Was using the recommended FTP client that they suggested. Been 3 days no response and there max response time is 12 hrs? L O L

interesting you mention that. I've had problems transferring files through ftp myself. I'll move, say, a movie that's in segmented rars and occasionally one of the rar files will have an error in it. my solution to this has been to just run the torrent on my home PC and download the file that was corrupted. I'm glad to hear that these things aren't just me.

needless to say, I won't be renewing again when it comes around. I was looking at the forums here and I think that the xirvix package seems a bit better. and specifically, it comes with utorrent already installed and operational without needing to use NX to get er going. not to mention 500 gig space for the same price I'm paying now for 200. (my numbers may be off here, I can't be pissed to check right now...)

have you considered the same? or asked about a refund?

Edit: just asked for a refund for the latest extention of service I paid for. I'll let you know how it goes.

heh! so, my latest update is they rebuilt the box again without telling me--I lost data on it. he got utorrent running properly now. he said he was able to connect to it and for me to give it a try. he changed the default port in utorrent while he was "testing" and wasn't kind enough to tell me what it was. for whatever reason, he also changed the remote desktop password also!
so, I had to wait for him to reply again to tell me he changed it back so I could find out what the port number he changed it to was. thankfully it was pretty quick, but by the time he finally got back to me, and I asked for a refund for a second time, I already filed a paypal dispute. both times I asked for a refund I was promptly ignored on the subject. I won't be removing it until I get my money back that I paid for next month.
luckily, he credited my account for 7 days when it took 9 for everything to get up and working. I'm not even gonna bother using it. come next week when I get paid, xirvix seedbox is the first thing on my list after gas and food! until it goes down, I'm letting a member here use it :)

So I was like screw it, used a download manage but when I did that it wanted me to re-sign in so I had to manually download the files 1 by 1 really slow -_-... on top of that track 3 off the CD i downloaded was missing... not on my PC or the server im like wtf! .. now there is no more seeds on that torrent and im pretty much f'd
