    Default Dont get Constant Speed?

    Hi,

I just got a seedbox which is shared btw. Now i want to ask is it only a problem with me or thats like universal in seedboxes, the thing is 1 sec i am getting upload speed of around 600Kb and the next instant its around 30Kb even though for a fact i know that there are 2 seeders of a file (1 being me) and there are around 90 leechers... still i dont get the full speed of the seedbox ?

    PS. im using santrex seedbox

If your speed is dropping like that it sounds like your Hard Drive cant keep up with your connection. I have a couple of questions for u?? Are u using uTorrent and what is your cache set to? Also how much memory do u have?

Ok, what u are seeing is not really normal and is only normal in a case of a server being overloaded or wrong version of wine. What i mean by that is your HDD cant keep up with your connection with all the disk reads & writes so it gets slower and in turn forces your connection to get slower.

How much RAM does each user on your server have?

I would try and set your disk cache in utorrent to something higher, like start off with 256 and test it from there and slowly find the best settings for your server. Or if u want, tell me how much RAM u have and what your disk cache settings are. Then i can help u optimize uTorrent disk cache so u get constant speeds.

How many torrents are you running as well. And are they big torrents?

It could also be actions of other users that are hurting your slot.

Im not sure what server's Santrex uses, but im guessing OVH & Kimsufi and if thats the case im pretty sure they are not the low-end servers or they wouldnt have shared users with unlimited torrents for each. Let me change that statement, I am hoping thats not the case with Santrex or it would be a bad package deal.

Anyway i cant see the thumbnail u posted and i have to open in something else real fast so i have to get back to u in a couple of miinutes, but with the torrents u have running i can tell u right away it sounds like u have the disk overload issue.

Yes i do suggest that. I would also suggest giving yourself a 10gb cushion with your use, but u can still seed and download big packs if u want. Thats up to u. This is what to do with your disk cache settings > First check the first box that says override automatic cache and put 256. Then uncheck the last box u have checked > disable windows disk write cache. Test with those setting and tell me if u get constant speed. Another way to stop overload would be to cap your download speed to say 5000kb/s or whatever u get best results with.
