Thread: Essential for choosing the right file ?

Hi,

I just got my first seedbox and i went onto bithdtv and
downloaded a 37GB file which had
1 Seeder and
55 Leecher
at the moment... by the time i completely downloaded the file... there were 22 seeders and 80 leecher... but still the file is not uploading more than 100Kb/sec... maybe this might a unqiue case or maybe i should wait till its 100% complete before getting the right upload rate...

watever the case still i would like if anybody could help me by telling me what should one look for while choosing the right file. Should 1 go for big files ? or get onto latest tv series epsiodes as quickly as possible? do files like 42seeders and 30leechers a good file to put onto the seedbox ?

any help would be greatly appreciated

The reason that you arent getting good upload is because most of them are partial seeders.None have any intentions of downloading the full file.At BitHDTV ,go for green torrents that are free and 2X up to get some upload going.
For any general buffering I d suggest you jump on new releases,look at what will actually be popular,like Heros in TV shows,DiAMOND dvd rips and things of that sort,.
Before grabbing a file also take a look at the peerlist if the tracker has one see the upload and download speeds of the peers,that will give you a fair idea if someone IS actually downloading that torrent

Hy Abysmal, If you want to make a good buffer for Bit-HDTV, choosing their Blu-Ray releases is always a great choice, I always get a 2:1 ratio easily on those, preferably when they are new, now the good thing about those type of files is that they are ~40GB so there is a lot of potential for seeding and almost all the time they are freeleech, and about your question concerning more seeders than leechers and if you should go after them, I would recommend going after those if they have big size and are freeleech, otherwise you may want to hold on to recently new stuff, you could also use the RSS feed but it is really not necessary for those trackers, only SCC and SCT since they are tremendously fast.

So I would go for the new stuff, I myself am not that expert on the area, have only been using seedboxes for 3 months but you start getting the feel of it, and once you are done downloading the file, your upload speed should improve even more, so do not worry if you are uploading ~100kbps, it will get better.

There is some things you need to notice:
1. Is this 37GB file is a file (rar is ok) or a pack?
2. How old is this torrent?

In case that this torrent contains pack and the age of this torrent > 1 months (or days in some 0/day trackers like SCC), it is very possible that the 55 leechers you see are not leeching at all, possibly they are all only download part of the 37GB torrent file, therefore their status will be showed as leechers (not seeders since they don't have the complete 37GB file) but they are not downloading anymore. That's why your upload speed is max at 100, because the other leechers are not downloading at all.

So here is my suggestions, take torrent which contains file (not pack), the new ones, and the one with around 10 leechers and 1 seeders.

stay away from big,old packs. their leechers are mostly partial seeders. scene blu-rays, games can be helpful.
