I am thinking of getting a dedicated seedbox and offering up shares to those willing to split the cost (try to keep each share to $10). This looks like the best way to get a good seed box experience at a low cost. My preference would be Win OS with uTorrent/WebUI (lower learning curve, TorrentFlux seems a little pokey). I have a few quesitons for those who have done this before:
1) do you run a separate uTorrent instance for each user to keep everything separate?
-if so, how should connections speeds be set relative to server speeds to avoid issues (do u just divide normal recs by number of instances or allow overload...)
2) how many active torrs can u expect on a 2GB Win2K3 box (assuming 4 users, each with their own uTorr overhead)
3) how do u track how much up/down people have done (to ensure no-one is monopolizing the box)
-does uTorr have some decent logging/stats
4) can you have a shared uTorrent instance so all the users can cross seed very popular files or packs
5) how do u avoid issues with users accessing the same files from the same trackers
I would appreciate any insights u can provide.
