Thread: Help me find a cheap seedbox.

I have a data cap on my home connection that limits me to 25GB/m upload/download. To stay on private trackers I need a 1:1 ratio so that effectively cuts in half the amount of stuff I can get off them. As such, I'm looking for a cheap seedbox with about 50GB/m data transfer. It doesn't have to have great speeds either, the prime consideration here is cost. I just didn't want to go with one of the seedboxes that gets 200GB/m or whatever, for something I don't really need. Any ideas?

I use the Xirvik semidedi box and It keeps my ratio at a pretty good shape, the cost is very reasonable, they have also shared boxes that are even cheaper, they have online help through msn whenever you need anything, I am a satisfied costumer.

Thanks, I had a look at Xirvik but the cheapest is $17.95/m with only 3 active torrents? I'm looking at hopefully around the $10/m mark, even if it's a massively shared seedbox.

I would also recommend xivix. I have been using it for 2 months now and the speed is impressive for it being a shared box. They only put about 3 users on a box. From the research I've done they have the best prices. They even offer you a dedicated IP address on there shared boxes, which is almost nonresistant in most similar options and price range. At least when I researched it. There support is great, not 24/7 but all your problems get sorted out in a reasonable amount of time. Not that there are alot of problems, just when you need help with something it is done relatively quickly.

Also, setup was done in no time at all. Good thing is you can order them on weekly or monthly billing. You get a good amount of hdd space for the prices your paying. I usually get full bandwidth. That is probably because of he other users on the box though. I have got about 8mb's both up/down on several torrents in the past. I never got 10mb/s simultaneously though on both up/down. I often get up to 10mb/s upstream or downstream though. The average speed is probably around 7mb/s. They have unlimited bandwidth, unlimited torrents and 75gb space for about $25/m.

Overall a great experience with them. There dedicated servers are pretty cheap, if you think you need one.

FeralHosting is offering 110GB and unlimited active for ~USD$17 a month.

Fastsh offers 100GB with unlimited active for USD$18.50 (Shared) or 100GB with unlimited active with 576MB RAM for USD$22.50 (VPS).

Anything under those prices and you will have low limits on disk space and active torrents. And remember you get what you pay for. Xirvik has fantastic customer support. Feral and Fastsh will have larger delays in responding if there are any issues. But I have found all to be quite decent and stable. But you must know what you are doing. They expect you to do a lot more yourself. Xirvik will email the details and you will be able to start using it right away. Fastsh you must select the torrent client you want, possibly down and install, then execute and configure.

It should be noted about feral though is that on there power plans there are about 9 people that box. I was looking at them for my shared seedbox a while ago.
