Thread: seed box information

hey all,this questions for those who have seedboxes,well iv wanted to know for a while,how do speedboxes work in regards to your internet usage for your ISP,does it work something like this.....when you upload a torrent onto your seedbox off your pc which is 5gb,your ISP charge you the 5 gig off your internet usage when you upload it onto your seedbox?
i take it the same goes about downloading from your seedbox onto your pc,you'l get the full 5 gig taken straight out of your internet usage for the month,is that how it all works
This is obviously my final question before i do signup and get a seedbox myself,so any information would be greatly appreciated,cheers all

Yes, the way you described it is the way it works. There are a few important additional points:

You do not have to transfer torrent contents between your PC and your seedbox if you do not want. I use my seedbox to seed all sorts of content I am not interested in but others are. I dowload the content directly to my seedbox from the tracker swarm and seed from there, never using any ISP bandwidth.

I usually only take up my ISP bandwidth when I download content that I am interested in from my seedbox. I never upload content to my seedbox (unless I have some files on my PC that I think will seed really well and I do not want to download them again from a tracker).

A seed box is a great option when you have tight ISP bandwidth limits or trackers that are very hard to seed with slower upload connections. Check out Dave's new seedbox offering in the seedbox forum.

That depends on how mutch you plan spending, the server location etc..

40-50 euro pr month will give you a seedbox with 100mbit, 250gig hd etc..
