    Default seedbox location important?

    Hi All,

I have been reading as much as i can about a seedbox and I haven't read anything about location issues. I live in California and was wondering if the location of the seedbox should be an important decision factor? I understand the up/dl for will be directly from box, but what about streaming or DL direct to my computer. Should I be factoring that decision at all?

    Appreciate your thoughts.

I don't think location will has an effect on such high speed .. even if it effects what can it do ? drop the 1GB connection to make it 990MB xD ?

I don't think that it's a big or important factor at least .

Sa7bi I think it will make a difference. For example if I have to choose between a french server and a server here in the Netherlands where I live, then I would choose the Netherlands because the ping will be very low. This will keep the speed high, when you download between the seedbox and your home internet. Because I read on many reviews that some seedbox sellers have bad "ftp" speeds.

Yeah I know that it'll vary but how many MBs you'll loose because of the location of the server ? that's what I'm talking about ..
for sure you'll loose some MBs but if we're talking about 1GB connection for example .. it's not a big deal xD .
and about this FTP thing, you can use apache to make a server to download using IDM (dedicated servers only i think) .. I didn't try it before but I think the concept is right and can be applied .

Nahh about the apache server it doesn't make a difference, sometimes the connection it self (don't look at the upload speed) but the ping like 300ms could really make it slow. But I know where you're getting at, but of course there are people who want to fully enjoy the 1Gbit connection.

You guys talking about those fast connections that minimum 15-20 per mo. But I'm thinking about a smaller plan that is like $6-10 a month at seed.st. May just try it out and see what it's a bout. I think I can go month to month. Then I can see what the speeds are about.
