    Default What Seedbox?

    Hi guys.

I am going to get myselp a seedbox plan today but need some questions answered.

Firstly, What is the most used/best seedbox plan?
I am in the UK so does this effect what speedbox i should get?
And ive searched around with no joy, is there a link for a tutorial on how to set up the seedbox with rutorrent on linux?

    Kindest regards

Could I use that from the UK?
Is this a good fast plan?
What are the downsides to this plan?
Can I store the downloaded torrents on my PC computer once downloaded and still seed them?

Sorry about all the questions but im trying to learn lol Thanks in advance

    Hi,

There is no best seedbox. I don't want to recommend a provider to you in this thread, as many are represented here and I don't want any hard feelings.

    • You can use a seedbox from any country.
    • I have never used whatbox personally, but I have head that they are decent.
    • The bandwidth (amount you can UL) is limited to 2.5TB on that plan, which is a downside.
    • They don't seem to mention what speed their boxes are.
    • We have a whole Seedbox Tutorials section for guides and such. Some providers set the box up for you.
    • Yes - you can download the data via FTP or SCP.
    • No - you can't seed them without re-downloading the data of the torrent from the tracker, to your computer.

Don't worry about having many questions - we're all happy to help!

    Cheers,

Thank you for your reply. So say I download file A which is 250GB, it completes downloading and I want to seed it. Do i have to leave it stored on my seedbox taking up storage for it to seed? Or can I FTP the file to My Computer and still seed it or not?

    Kindest Regards

You'd need to leave it on your seedbox to seed.
You can FTP it to your computer to actually make use of it, but you can't seed it from there in the way you're thinking.

    Cheers

    It's already installed

Just click the "WebUI" link on the top-right and it should take you right to it.

What you're seeing in that picture is your control panel. Where you can restart rtorrent, check your data usage and check that all your services are running (bottom-right).

    Cheers

Run Deluge on the Heat Plan, speeds get crazy fast. Check out my review thread where I hit 90+ Mbit's up.

There's no need for your PC to be connected - the seedbox will stay up 24/7 seeding, regardless.
