guys MoneyPak is 100% anonymous. nothing to register, you buy the card, and give me the code lol. That is just like cash except you have to pay like a $3.95 fee to use it lol

Yep, too cavalier.... If they keep the records for a few hours, and your server gets confiscated in a raid, then your finger print could be all over it. You want a seedbox company that logs to /dev/null. However, that would make it impossible to deal with anyone hacking into your server, but what would you prefer?

Exactly. That's why it will be my next purchase.

You've got to pay 3.95 for those visa/mc cards also so there's no difference. Also another thing I had learned was that you can't actually link a prepaid gift card to paypal since it's not a real CC. That might be a problem I was experiencing too. Check PayPal's faq about it.

Ultimately I don't know if the payment would go through or not with a gift card but MoneyPak is the way to go for using paypal.

And again, proxies or vpns will help in reducing the IP trail while making payments. Won't so much help while you download from the ftp to your home pc on your own IP, though. ;)

OK, but PayPal demands proofs, don't they? Water bills, passport scans etc. So as long as you need to pay via PayPal you are never anonymous, or not?

Why not just use a provider that accepts Bitcoin as payment? It doesn't get more anonymous than that.

No. Some of those may be required if you are trying to add a real bank account to your account or go through some kind of enhanced identity confirmation. But you can create a account and add funds without any kind of verification.

Off the top of my head, from all the seedbox services I've looked at none take Bitcoin. Bitcoins are more of a hassle to obtain than going down to a local store and buying a Moneypak. Buying the Bitcoins in the first place is not anonymous since you have to pay for them somehow (which may not be as big a concern but why leave any trail). Bitcoin transactions themselves are not fully anonymous, and can be traced if someone really wanted to. Bitcoin network can be and has been hacked and your bitcoins stolen. The value fluctuates all the time so if a seedbox will take payment as 20 bitcoins, yet you bought at a high period of $9 each, well that's $180 for something that otherwise would be $25.

Just a couple ideas to why not bitcoin :)

Is this true in the US? In the EU it's not true. I have managed now 7 accounts and they all demand extensive documentation.

It might vary from country to country. I'm sure information could be found on their website. I'm only familiar with US accounts.

but a US vpn/proxy = US ip = US fake paypal account :)

Without providing any info you can do $500/month with moneypak.
So I can walk into a store, put $100 on a MoneyPak, redeem it on PayPal and get my seed box without entering ANY information? I've read about "registering" the pak with your SSN, etc. in multiple places, so that's just for large payments? I want to know before I go out and waste money on buying a pak just to find out I need to put in my SSN and name to transfer the funds. Also if someone from the US can confirm this.
