I must admit my usage of Deluge is limited, I have been using ruTorrent with RSS feeds for quite sometime now and its always catered to my needs but im noticing more and more seedbox companys are slowly migrating to Deluge was just curious what the general publics reaction was, Cant say ive used the irssi module yet but will give it all a whirl in the upcoming days and see how i feel about it :) Keep the input coming im really curious what people think, Do you find a larger server overhead with Deluge ?

I like RuTorrent but I prefer Deluge for 2 reasons:

    - Nicer, Cleaner and Faster Web Interface
    - More Aggressive To Download torrents

Not sure why Deluge has only a limited number of users?

Ive used both quite a bit, Deluge may be a little bit faster and its way more aggressive with uploading/downloading but its very barebones compared to RUtorrent. All of the addons with RUtorrent really make it come on top of deluge for me.

personal experience, rutorrent is better gui.. plus lots of plugins.

rutorrent can add much more torrents than deluge i think.

i always prefer rutorrent over deluge coz i always get more seed back on every torrent and it helps me with making ratios as for long-term seedings than deluge but deluge is faster and stronger for those gonna have a better auto-dl experience imo

Deluge is much less resource efficient than rTorrent, and a large part of this has to do with the fact that Deluge is so aggressive. Annoyingly so in fact. Like many modern clients, in it's attempt to download and upload faster, it opens a much greater number of connections than it needs, sucking up more resources not only on it's end, but also on the other end. I hate this about it, it's really annoying. I always set up my seedboxes to block any attempts to connect more than 30 times per minute. If you're on Deluge or especially uTorrent, you get 30 connections, that's it. Keeps resource usage from spiking and causing issues.

It's really a difference in philosophy:

rTorrent is sort of like: "Hmmm, I think I need 5 connections with this client, let's do 5 and we'll see how that goes"

Deluge is like: "I WILL TAKE ALL OF YOUR PORTS!!!!!! And then you can have back what I decide I don't need"

Deluge is quicker on the uptake, but can't handle as many torrents. rTorrent can handle a much much larger number of torrents, but without significant alteration, it will be somewhat slower on speeds to pick up seeders (IMO and experience, yours may differ. Given the chance to both max out their speeds, I suspect they would be fairly similar)
