Default Shall I continue with my current seedbox provider

    Hi,

I need some expert and friendly advice on my current seedbox host. I am not trying to bash or praise, there are certain facts and I am seeking your opinion whether their performance or specs are in line with the money being paid.

Its a 105 GB seedbox based out of NL for which I am paying USD 7.5 per month. Host claims this to be a 1G shared speed.

No apparent downtime was noticed last month.
Max speed observed (only consistent mentioned here):
    dl ~ 31 MB/s
    ul ~ 3.5 MB/s

FTP: max speed to my ISP.

What do you suggest, shall I continue with them? or consider some one else like seed.st?

Personally, if you are getting those speed consistently, I would stay with your current provider.

Hey, $7.50 is a steal.... you got 31MB/s speed which is pretty good for a shard 1Gbps. I suggest you stay unless you think you have hit the ceiling in terms of responsiveness and HDD space.

Thanks for you quick feedback.. appreciate. After using seedbox, it seems one need unlimited space. Support response from this host has been moderate to slow, but every time at first instance they respond with solution.

Another thing I should have told you is that they provide utorrent webui client. Which per me has limited features as compared to rtorrent.

So you think U/l speed of ~3.5 is ok for this price? Another alternate could be seed.st $10, seems they provide 225GB. But I am not sure of their speeds.

Seed.st is good, they say that average upload speed is 2MB/s on $10/month plan. I would go with them if you need more HDD space.

Depends on your budget. The Flex plan at whatbox.ca would be an improvement for not too much more money (It's $15). 150GB HDD space, about ~18MB/s upload, and the support is very good. If you don't have a lot of money, yours is a great deal. If another $7.50 a month isn't a big deal, and you want better HDD space or speed, then you should upgrade.

As the saying goes, you pay peanuts and you get monkeys (you get what you paid for). Well to be honest, if you could even hit 5MB/s for the UL, then there should no problem sticking with the current host. If not, you could always purchase a box from whatbox.

    Is this unmetered btw?
