    This is a no-brainer

    Softlayer's network has much better quality and peering to everywhere in the world.

    OVH is probably the worst of the 3 top datacenters in the world, that is why their prices are so cheap..

    Softlayer>LeaseWeb>OVH

    Uhh

    well idk where bieberfever gets his info from but i'd have to disagree on almost everything lol

    @Koz

    What datacenter specifically? or network? Are you referring to Softlayer's USA, singapore or NL based datacenters?
    Softlayer is a large provider in the USA and just starting up in the netherlands. They have great connectivity to north america, and most of europe. Softlayers network is not very large in europe yet as they are new there, but the USA is covered quite well. Very expensive however.

    OVH however is mainly European for the time being. They are however expanding to north america very soon.
    OVH is not by any standpoint bad whatsoever... Theyre one of the largest and growing at an exponential rate hosting providers in the world. They offer probably the best solutions for basic seedboxes as they have rock bottom pricing and a vast internal and private network within europe that would be more than sufficient for any seedbox type needs.

    As far as a comparison to Leaseweb.. this is a no brainer (for seedboxes at least)

    Leaseweb > OVH > Softlayer.

    Simply because softlayers network currently is mostly USA based. Their Netherlands network needs some work. Its unsecure and full of bugs. But this comes with all things new and will probably be fixed in the near future.

    Koz, what are you using the server for? (just to confirm)

    It was a vps from Ultra Seedbox. It has France:OVH and Netherlands:Softlayer. Going to be using it for torrenting.

    The thing with OVH, is that they have been around for quite sometime, so many seedbox company's use them, it means speeds on torrents should always be pretty good (its mainly internal bandwidth) As time has gone on, some providers have moved to leaseweb (mainly due to custom configurations on servers but also better peering outside of Europe)
    Leaseweb <-> OVH is still very good. So you cant really go wrong with either company if you are Europe based (for FTP at least) or just want to build ratio.

    I use France:OVH on one of my seedboxes and to be honest, I couldn't be happier with the performance. I max out when downloading the torrents, and also max out my home connection when downloading them to my PC. Plus I'm in Australia, which means maxing out my connection when downloading stuff from my seedbox makes it 100x better.
