    Keeping a good ratio because in italy we have max 20kbs upload speed, also because my ISP sometimes disconnects people who use torrents

    originally it was just so I didn't have to keep my computer on 24/7 to seed and small bandwidth allocation from my ISP made it difficult to seed. I had a cheap, tiny seedbox at first and that was almost equal to what I was paying in keeping my computer all the time with the benefit of having unlimited seeding so I didn't have to worry about ratios any more. I live in canada so paying for unlimited internet is not worth it esp with our crappy speeds.

    Now I'm slightly addicted and have become a ratiowhore. After i got the box I started joining more trackers, esp specialized ones and it just snowballed from there...now I have a unlimited Kimsufi that I have to hide from the missus.

    I'm so ashamed...

    Also, the security thing is big for me to as I can worry less by getting stuff from my box. Plus when I travel my stuff is available anywhere in the world and I can vpn through my box .

    Well first of all for ratio, obviously having a huge buffer is nice, and handy.

    Secondly, security, I can put the torrent on my seedbox, couple of seconds later start downloading to my home connection, maxed out and all encrypted.

    Thirdly, I setup my server to download EVERY new film release so when I feel like watching a new movie I just check releases for anything good then fire up VLC and stream it straight off my server instantly.
