    Default seedbox speed question

    hey,

i've only used a seedbox once before, and am trying it out a second time to help boost some of my ratios. After some reading of reviews, i decided to go with whatbox.ca. the price seemed really great and the setup was EASY and FAST. It's a 300 Mbps connection, and while I seem to see OK speeds on the downloads (peaking at like 15MB or so), my upload speeds seem pretty cruddy. I'm rarely topping 1MB upload combined with about a dozen active torrents. Usually I am seeing completed torrents uploading at like 300-500kbps. maybe its just the torrents i am on? Is there something I need to adjust in the ruTorrent settings?

I've personally used the WHatBox heat plans and you should not be getting download 15mbps/1mbps up..

It is definitely the type of files that you've downloaded..

How many seeders did your file have when you started downloading?

    How many leechers?

Which Tracker were the files from?

If you give us more information we can help you

i'm mostly having this problem with passthepopcorn. I have slow ups on waffles too, but i expect that with a music tracker like that. with PTP for instance, i just downloaded a scene it was like 80 seeders and 20 leachers or so. my upload has been peeking out at about 100k. got the same scene release from torrentleach, and on there it was 120 seeds 30 leachers. that ones even worse. I know when i grab a new TV episode directly off of TL is the only time i can manage to peak out m upload speed, and even then, it's only 1MB or so and only for a very brief window.

Since there are more seeders, you cant expect good upload speeds. Try uploading a scene torrent at PTP or jump on a torrent as soon as it is announced on irc. Try other trackers as well.

Try the freeleech x264 encodes, as they should max out your seedbox on ptp, however, on waffles go for software cross seeding, but still don't expect much.

i am using seedunlimited's seed 115 at the time (about 16USD/m) and contrary to feedback here on the forum by some users, i have found that exactly as the seedunlimited say it is.

i can maintain 10Mb speed on any torrent from various sites provided its well seeded and up speed is usually 5, 6 Mb (again if they have the speed to leech from you) but on PTN i have seen it seed with 10MB and never dropping even once.

and the rutorrent is excellent which comes with it and its extrtemely easy to start using it with no delay times..

MrUniverse, thanks for the tip! doing much better on PTP with those x264 freeleeches. still need to figure out the waffles, but doing much better. and this weekend i should likely have some time to actually just put up some of my own content, which should really help matters over there. on SCC, I'm still having trouble getting any good speeds for up, but I'll try hanging out in the IRC and hopping on things as soon as they are announced.

The archive section is really the best way to go with scc, even though you still won't have consistently high speeds after a bit like other trackers with seeding.
