So i purchased a seedbox from them back in late February of last year. It works great ordered the low end one. Never had an issue. About 3-4 months later they Released the 2g version of the server. with almost 1Tb drives... mine has a 250gb... Now thinking since my server ends in February. do yall think Kimsufi will release an upgrade again this year? I really don't wanna upgrade to the new one come out and be in the same situation again. soo what do yall think?

No, the new ones were released just a few months ago and should economically last about 2 years to 3 years... That said, they are offering newtest-KimSufi's to French customers only on a first come, first serve basis... Not really a big upgrade, mostly CPU-wise they are all Intel now.

If you're really worried about that why don't you pay for it monthly, that way if they release an upgrade you can just switch to it the next month.
Also @DutchRuff, its not all intel there are a couple AMD ones as well. And the upgrade was really big if you consider the jump in storage space, so I get where xDrewxx is coming from.

Another thing to note why it may be better to get a new Kimssufi is that OVH tries to test their network and makes some of the connection links 1Gbps instead of 100Mbps. It happens about 50% of the time and you need a lot of luck and the 2G's never become 1Gbps. I assume they make some kind of hidden beta and will offer them pretty soon also with a 1Gbps connection link.

Since when did Kimsufi stop charging a setup fee? that was always my issue b4. I just pulled it up and there was no setup fee... kinda suprised.. .might just buy it one month at a time in a few weeks... after Christmas....

Heres a second quesion on this.... I have around 200 torrents seeding on my seed box... whats the best way to transfer that all over so that i don't have to redownload all of the torrent files i'm seeding? running r-torrent

I can't tell you the exact date, but it was already a couple of months ago that they lifted the setup fee.

The best way to transfer data, when you have root access, is usually rsync or SCP:
Transfer content from one seedbox to another
The use of both methods is described in this thread, just post here for any follow up questions.

If you want to avoid having to re-add all your torrents you need to copy the session folder of rtorrent, which one it is, is described in the .rtorrent.rc file.

Kimsufi - votre gamme de serveurs dédiés à partir de 14.99 Euros/mois ! -> TEST Servers I spoke about for ONLY French customers...

And they are still on the 100Mbps network yet have a Gbit uplink to the switch.

Ah, i see what you meant now. My bad. I wasn't aware of these "Bonus Plans" as they call them. Thanx for the link.

Anyway, back to topic. I would say SCP is the best way to transfer the files across the servers. I've done it with two kimsufis and it transferred at max speed the entire time. The link Magister posted should help you if you're not sure how to do that.
As for moving the torrents, the best way would be to transfer the session directory across once you setup rtorrent, however make sure you have the same directory structure/files etc first so that it resumes seamlessly.

Seems like a simple process. I'll be trying it toward the end/middle of January. Gonna buy the new server so i have about a month of Over lap between the 2 servers.
