    Default Seedbox's

So have never owned or even looked into getting a seedbox, but let me get this straight.

Kinda a stupid question but a seedbox is a server with with a fast internet connection which you rent out so your torrents download and upload at fast speeds right? Then I'm guessing you can access this server via ftp or http using the max bandwidth your computer can handle?

That is just an educated guess, correct me if I'm wrong. What speeds does a typical server give you?

Reason I ask is because I'm thinking of getting one as it seems the way to go these days, often wondered how a single person can upload at 3+ mb/s :P

Any basic advice you know on them would be a great help :D

About right on the money, mate...

Depending on what you rent, you usually look at maximum speeds between 50Mbit and 10Gbit. Speeds is ofcourse depending on how many seeders vs leechers there are but on high-end trackers, expect at least 160Mbit downstream and around 100Mbit upstream on popular/free torrents with enough interested people on it.

Please get your lower/upper M and B right to make sense; someone in your example is uploading at 3 millibit per second...

Yes. Seedboxes are a server that is connected to a dedicated internet connection usually 100mbit-1gbit.

If you order a 100mbit seedbox expect speeds of up to 12.5mbps upload speed(good enough for most medium-level trackers)

If you decide you need more speed a 1Gbit seedbox would give you connection speeds up to 40-50mpbs( useful for HIGH level trackers)

It all depends on your budget and If you're willing to shell out the cash to get the 1Gbit connection speed :)
