Thread: Help with rutorrent on a seedbox

Hi fellows...

A friend of mine witch I've helped to set up up a linux seedbox asked me for a rutorrent plug-in/tool or whatever that would allow him to take movies screen shots directly from RuTorrent but i can't find such plug-in/tool...

Does anyone knows this feature???

No, but if he uses VLC-player, take a look at another tool called "Swish"; it will allow for a drive-mapping to a unix-seedbox to stream directly so he can take screenies that way.

Else maybe look into the commandline of mkvtoolnix or mencoder for unix.

there is a screenshot plugin available in the rutorrent trunk which depends on ffmpeg. its limited to certain containers, but works pretty well for a alpha/beta plugin.

P.S. personally, i cant stand vlc, but this might also be a solution to what you are planning on doing.
P.P.S. another alternative is mpchc: media player classic hc plays unfinished mkvs, avis and probably other containers as well. you could just start an ftp/sftp download and take your screenshots with that. My favorite player btw, combiend with ffdshow tryouts and haali :)
