Thread: how to seed (using seedbox) on what and waffles?

I just got a seedbox and I find it really hard to improve my ratio using it on what and waffles.

First of all, they don't have any free leeches, like on other trackers, where you just download those freeleeches and take it easy while others upload from you.

Secondly, every single second new files are uploaded, of really small size. And I can never get a good ratio downloading them.

Any advice? Even general advice on how to take advantage of a seedbox to improve your ratio as this is the first week I am using a seedbox?

P.S. I would also like some info on something I heard of which is called rss, automated announcement or stuff like that.

yes, sure that would be a solution.

but i mean other than uploading torrents? for example in other sites you can use freeleeches..

One suggestion from me is to seed the stuff you have download as long as you can as at some point somebody will snatch it :)

Think there is enough to find but it's quite tracker-specific usually.

Personally, I always grab stuff that has the most leechers, usually porn on most sites, even if I have no intent on ever watching it. With a good box (speedwise) I've ended up seeding more than anyone else after 24 hours.

I usually seed for 4 weeks too, I've seeded for 2 months if there was some activity on a torrent and I had space to keep it.

Another thing I do is gamble, I'll constantly look for new torrents that I think will be popular and will be one of the first to leech. Getting the file early gives you a lot of opportunity to seed, but it can also end up hurting your ratio if you guessed wrong.

Best thing to do is set up some sort of auto download thing What has a sticky in their forums on this. TBH it seems really complicated and I looked into it and then decided it was beyond my capabilities!
Waffles is much easier to seed on, ideally wait for freeleech then grab huge file and wait. Or as said above keep updating the torrents page and immediately jump on a torrent you think will get the most leechers - harder to do this on What.
What has Staff Picks every so often (monthly?), so jump on these early on as they are freeleech, and everything you have ever downloaded from What keep seeding forever. You will build up buffer with a slow trickle over time. With What its almost pointless having a seedbox unless you use the auto download script, and even then you need a fast seedbox.

Be ready to be amazed. LOL. Are you ready? The secret of a good ratio will be revealed to you after 1, 2, 3... Now! There are other categories, at least in one of those trackers, like E-learnings and Applications. They can be used to your advantage pretty well, you only have to have a little patience. If you have an E-learnings tracker that only makes the task much easier.

As Rooster already said, you need to use an autosnatch script like PYWA (there are very nice tutorials of this on the What.cd forums), then put some thought into your filters. On What.cd you will notice that a lot of people download 2011 releases in the format of VB0 and FLAC in genres like rock, metal and alternative and sometimes 320 in genres like dubstep. Focus on these and see how it goes (perhaps wait a little bit with FLAC releases until you have built a good ratio). And as always, if it's a site you like, make sure you upload. If you don't have many CDs you can rip, then upload e-learning material or software. Be creative!
