Thread: Paid help setting up seedbox for torrenting and filesharing

Hi all,

Would like to know if there is anyone willing to set up my VPS with everything I need to torrent and file share. I now have data caps on my bandwidth and I do heavy, heavy, heavy uploads and downloads of stuff--TV shows mostly.



I am not a tech so that is why I would like someone who is to set it up for me. Right now, the VPS is the cheapest package with very little memory. But if someone can do this for me I will upgrade to a package that will work.

I will pay a reasonable sum for the work. Could I get some quotes?

Hope this does not violate rules and such to post this type of thread.

A seedbox is surprisingly very simple to set up there are heaps of guides here but if you don't feel comfortable setting one up yourself look at buying one that comes set up create yourself an introduction here become a member and im sure you will find everything you need here to get a seedbox or one up and running

And a lot of other awesome things things as well, so first of all, I'd suggest you complete an introduction and become a full member. About your VPS, first thing you should know, I doubt you have to pay anyone to get it setup for you, quite a number of people here, including myself (although i'm no expert) would be willing to help you out with that for free. And there are countless free scripts as well that can do it all for you as well. If you do feel like paying someone for their trouble you're welcome to, but just so you know, you don't have to, odds are you can get it done for free.

Why don't you get a vps that is already setup and configured as a seedbox would save you the trouble :)

Well, I have been thinking of your plan here, seedking: https://seedking.org/plan1.php. It's just that $50 a month is a lot for me on my own and so far no one I've talked to wants to share. Is there a plan that might give me less storage for a lower price? I don't keep the stuff I download and upload for very long, so a huge amount of hd drive space is not necessarily needed. Not sure if that is what drives price or not but is one thing I might do without. Also, is it possible to get a different Usenet client? I use MacOSX and have been using the free Bin Reader to dl from there. And I use Astraweb as the premium account to access Usenet. I suppose these are things that can be discussed if I go with your service. I also would prefer a USA server because I am in the USA (Dallas, TX area) and using seedboxes in France or Germany was not a good experience for me.

Seedkings servers are in Chicago.

If you still want to stick with a VPS without pre-set up torrent clients an other software you should keep in my mind that rtorrent at least needs 1GB of RAM. Otherwise you will have a lot of crashes.

2 GB Dedicated Ram (Burstable to 3 GB)
1 gbit connection
and than all the usual seedking perks and options. This plan would cost $25 USD I rececived your request also and will get it going for you shortly.

If youwant to use another usenet client you can by all means do so since all our servers come with Root access you yan do anything you like :)

Not exactly, I have a few clients who've loaded there server with around twenty torrents on 512mb ram with rutorrent and have been pretty stable without crashes.

Not sure what you are referring to, Blohost. Are you in the right thread?

I have made the decision to go with Seedking's Devito box. He allowed me to test it for 24 hours and after many hours of a hair-pulling learning curve, I LOVED IT!! For a person used to DSL speeds, I was blown away. Downloading stuff in an hour that would take me days on DSL. Not to mention the upload speed was fantastic too. Currently, I can up at a whopping 75KB. Make my day.

So thanks Seedking and cannot wait to get my hands on that puppy again!!
