Thread: Help me choose and buy seedbox. PM or EB

Im goin to get a seedbox this week (maybe next week, depends on when i get my Visa card from my bank)
and i have been looking at EvoBoxes now.
And i just have a few question first,
1. Can you unpack rar or zip files?
2. create a torrent?
3. Public trackers allowed?
4. i never had a seedbox before, so what OS should i use? what is best?
By the way, its the "1Gbit/s VPS - Gold" ( £30 = 34,93 euro) im looking at.

Then i also have been looking at Pulsed Media.
They also have like evoboxes gold package, 430 GB hdd and 1Gbps but with 27.95 euro. ( 1Gbps seedbox - Medium package)
And on there site it says you can create torrent and public trackers allowed.

So, EvoBoxes seem to be good but Pulsed Media have a little better price... and i have looked at the reviews here on T-I but im still note sure...
And i have never had a seedbox before and really need one now :)

I'd go with EB. These few more bucks are for the superior service and speed!

2. yes
3. not encouraged (youre getting a gigabit server... why bother with public trackers anyway?)
4. ubuntu/debian is the safest bet.

Yeah it looks right now im goin to get a seedbox from EvoBoxes.
Everytime i have visit Pulsed media and looked at their 1Gbps seedbox, it always says "Availability 0"
And EB got "instant setup"...
Btw, you who got EvoBoxes, how is the speed on 1Gbit/s seedbox? Want to know upload speed, dont care about download speed so much...

i have a diamond vps, so my performance will likely be much great than yours, as i have a dedicated disk. I had silver a long time ago though (same specs as they are now) and i got 30MB/s or more easily when i needed it... im not an uploader or autosnatcher though, so i might have gotten even faster speeds. The disk would have been the limiting factor then probably...

open support ticket n ask them for Availability.

If you have never had a seedbox before, you honestly probably don't need the 1gbps line.

I would look at getting a dedicated seedbox with a 100mbps line. You may not burst to 30,40,50mbps but you will maintain a steady 10mbps and honestly thats all you maintain on a 1gbps line anyways after the initial release. With a dedicated box too you always have the power to do what you want to do.
