Thread: Problem or not with the seedbox??

I purchased a few days ago from Whatbox a seedbox the following configuration Hadron-100 Mbps -225 GB -unlimited and speed sucks.
Download speed drops to 400-900 Kb/s and climbs for short time to max 4.8 MB/s same for upload speed I never seen 7-8 MB/s down or up since I purchase the seedbox.
I got the seedbox ready for use and did not change anything in settings.
I'm doing something wrong or my seedbox is crap?

If you are able to edit your own config then i would suggest you make some minor tweaks and restart your process to see how things go.

If not then you are at the mercy of the ticket reply, if you post up your config i'm sure we here can help with some tweaks.

What do you mean by config? do you refer to rutorrent settings from the webui interface?

I think the problem is that you expected too much from this seedbox. A real unlimited connection is extremely expensive so they have to make it up somehow. If I remember it correctly then then share the 100Mbits (only 12.5MB/s!!!) between 3-4 users. (I contacted them once) I think you need to look at their other plans, because they are pretty good. (5T is enough for most people if you don't use autodl or spend 24/7 for torrenting)

It can always be a problem with the setup though. Is the correct amount of leecher/seeders displayed in your seedbox? What kind of gui are you using? Do you get any error messages? (I guess you don't have root access) You need to post more info.

FWIW, I have been using a Whatbox seedbox this week. This one is one tier below yours i.e. 100Mbps/115 GB.. and I have been seeing 7 - 8 MB/s sustained up from fast swarms e.g. SCC. And a sustained 6 MB/s up from many other trackers.

Yes Magister you may be right about they share the 100Mbits (only 12.5MB/s!!!) between 3-4 users because my speed is realy bad

But I had the 100Mbps/115 GB plan for one week and I have been seeing 7 - 8 Mbps sustained up like in Copper screen.

Is the correct amount of leecher/seeders displayed in your seedbox?

You can push your line THEORATICALLY up to 12.5MB/s, but when the others push theirs, yours is slower - obviously.

On the other hand you may also overestimated how much your peers can download from you.
For example: An old torrent with a lot of leechers is never popular (partial seeders)
People still have slow connection (in lower level private trackers)

I use a 1GBits connection which is shared between only 3 people and I have autodl-irssi filters for 5 very popular private trackers, but I usually upload 5-7MB/s even though I have always the freshest and mostly also hottest torrents running. I very rarely see speeds of 100MB/s (which is the max I have seen so far) and I basically only see that on SCC packs.
