If you have ScT and som other highlevel trackers, you need seedbox.

With the net conection that i have actualy i can't go to trackers like SCT, PTN... and in this case a seedboz is necessary
But probably at the end of this year i will put optic fiber to 100mbps and the PT, portugal internet provider, announced that next year it will be 1gb/s, and when it comes i think i wont need a seedbox

I've tried to use wikipedia and such to figure this out, but I'm not positive how a seedbox differs from a regular computer?

I have 10mbps speed testing speed, but only 1.2 or so top when downloading on uTorrent.

I'm assuming a seedbox would somehow utilize the full 10mbps potential?

But what makes it "necessary" to have one for some trackers?

Sorry for all the stupid questions :( Feel like a bit of an awkward outcast at the moment.

Thats not true, it differs from tracker to tracker. When I had 250kbs upload i was doing fine, now I have 1.15MB/s which is also fine.

I'd say seedboxes are a definite must, the speeds are better, not to mention your own IP is not the one doing the sharing.

I have never needed one. I usually upload at around 4 meg/s so ratios have not been a problem for me ^^
