Thread: what do i need to know before getting a box?

I'm clueless about boxes i don't know what to look for what's good what's not i don't wanna waste my money for nothing

you definitely want few users per disk and at least 1TB of (upload) traffic. if youre not a big uploader or autosnatcher, itll be more than enough for that occasional porn--- errr... music album and tv show. Try to avoid fishy sites that hide all that important information. so dont get on a server with more than 20 users (on 1GBit) or 4-5 (on 100Mbit) and make sure that users per disk is also 3 or less, or else you might get a painfully slow seedbox on your hands ;)

dont waste your money on servers at ~10-15USD or even less. they tend to suck A LOT. im with evoboxes pretty long now (55GBP diamond package) and am damn satisfied. if you can afford it get it, otherwise take a look at their cheaper alternatives. might not perform just as well, but the reviews they are getting are phenomenal. you can of course check also out all those other reviews in the review subsection.

oh yeh, if you want to do more than just dling stuff, you might want to get a VPS or even dedicated server. these tend to be more expensive, but offer way more possibilities than a torrent client and ftp access :)
