    Default rtorrent + deluge?

I build my own linux VMs to handle all my torrent traffic at home. I was reading through one of the various threads here about how Deluge works better for downloading and rtorrent works better for seeding.

My question becomes is it worth downloading with deluge and then seeding with rtorrent, or would it be just as easy to use rtorrent, and accept that it won't download as fast with deluge?

Keep in mind both boxes are headless, so I'd be doing everything through the webui, or chrome plugins.

    Thanks.

Also, how does Transmission stack up to the other 2, since I already have transmission working.

    thanks in advance.

Id install rtorrent/rutorrent and leave it at that. Deluge is good but doesnt compare to teh functionallity of rutorrrent.

Transmission is very limited and just outright ugly.

So if your going to do a box id ether put rutorrent or utorrent but leave it at that.

I'm just going to say, now that I have rtorrent working, with rutorrent, thanks to Easy ruTorrent installer + Web server, FTP, Webmin (Ubuntu/Debian/Fedora/More)

Wow. I've been wasting my time with transmission.

Water666, I am currently using both (Deluge and rTorrent) but mainly for easy cross-seeding. I haven't thought of downloading with Deluge and seeding with rtorrent. I have to try this out on torrents I am not going to cross seed anyway.

I have noticed the Deluge tends to be faster seeding wise than rtorrent especially noticeable on harder to seed trackers. Also yes deluge appears to download faster as long as there is a limited number of files active. I keep both around in case i want to upload something i grab from another tracker so to keep the same content active on both clients. Deluge is also less stable than rtorrent when your dealing with many seeding files so you should run both.

From my experience i get much better results with Deluge that with rtorrent, i have them both installed but i only use rtorrent in one tracker because it doesn't allow Deluge.

I'll give you a recent example, i tested rtorrent in SCC in the archive section where i usually reach a great ratio in every torrent with Deluge (like 3.0) and in 2 torrents with rtorrent i was barely able to achieve a ratio of 1
